I am still trucking through my 23 year to-do list. Exactly five months from today I need to have everything checked off. Which means I should start that sweater approximately seven months ago. Oof-ta.

I would say the coolest thing to come out of the list so far was my Europe mini album that made it into the pages of Scrapbook Inspirations – a great UK scrapbook magazine. I was so thrilled to be a part of the issue.

Happy Monday – I am off to figure out how many days I have left to do 121 yoga sessions.

  • Right now, I am hooked on Rock Band 2 – drumming. I drum and drum and drum. And my goal is to be as good as these guys. I might just upload a video of me to show you how far I have to go to get there.

Right now, I am in the process of finding a new job. A new adventure. A new something. I am hoping to find something that gives me enough time in my days for the things that I need + want.

Right now, I am feeling quite overwhelmed.

    The drumming helps with that.

I have been walking a big chunk of my commute this past week. Yesterday, my accidental mantra as I was walking was the word lovely. I could not get it out of my head. And then a lot of things came together last night around 11pm and I made a little book for keeping everything lovely that I collect. It is sort of like this but nine months later. I find that I end up with so much STUFF that I want to save. Until I get bored, this will be the place.

Tomorrow morning, Paul has a big test on everything he has learned since July in his surgery rotations. As soon as that finishes, we are headed to Virginia to do some wine tasting here and here. I may try to convince him to find some flea markets/antique fairs. I have this really good feeling that I am going to step out of the car, trip over a box of wood type and face plant into a letterpress that weighs less that 1000 pounds and costs $10.

    Dream big, I say.

Oh man. This one is my favorite. Just perfect in its multi-colored, haiku glory.

This morning I woke up, hopped in the shower and then did something that for the past three months I never thought I would do again – I put on a sweatshirt to eat my cereal. Gasp. NORMALLY, after my shower, I pour ice cold water over my head and then climb into the freezer. This is how hot it has been here.

But fall is coming. I am quite nervous for the return of the cold, but also quite ready for a bit of a change.

I have noticed recently that I am a bigger fan of change that I thought

These new lovelies make up for the moment at my college graduation when the guy who was calling out the names as we accepted our diplomas refused to say my middle name because he thought I had made it up.

  • Busy weekend up ahead. We've got friends in town which means pizzas to bake, football games to attend and obviously beer to drink. So before all that, I went to letterpress land this morning to get a few things taken care of (Allison + Amy, If you are out there, your custom orders are done and done and headed to a mailbox near you.)

Turns out I love teal ink. Turns out I might just marry it. New goods here.

Alright Friday – you are fantastic.

  • So, this lady came into the store today pushing a stroller which held what must have been the newest baby in the world. (if no babies have been born in the last two weeks.)

At the time, I was moving some flower fans around. The lady looked at me and asked "is that a fan?" To which I responded, "yes." I then handed her said fan. "Does it work?" she wanted to know. Again, I responded, "yes."

"I think I will try it. She loves the air blowing on her but it can't be to strong." She said, as she motioned toward the sleeping baby.

At the time I wanted to ask, "How do you know that? How do you know what she likes ALREADY?!?"

(Well actually, what I wanted to ask was "Do you mind if I hug her? And then go sit in that chair and hold her for about 14 or so minutes?")

But instead I said, "Oh, yes, it will be perfect."

As I moved the fans around, I kept thinking about how you have a baby – like you GET IT OUT OF YOU – and then you get to know it. For his or her ENTIRE life you know them. They just sort of squish in right next to you. As a part of you. And you of course become a part of them – you sort of ARE them.

And I have no idea why JUST TODAY because of some FLOWER FANS I made this connection.

But I suppose there are worse connections to make.

*nope, approximately zero babies on the way.
