enJOY it

  • I need to not be sitting here typing.

I need a to be finishing my hair, grabbing my bag and dashing out the door.

I need to have 45 extra minutes each day.

I need to figure out a Plan A. and then stick to it. (Or at least come up with two or three good Plan B.'s.

I need a moment or two to just sit with Paul where neither of us has anything on our plates except each other and good thoughts.

I need to get out and get going.

    1. These calling cards. I just bought them. 96 of them. Who do I have to hand them out to? Sort of not relevant.
    2. This apron. The photo is lame, but in real life, it's fantastic. Obviously it will be used for crafting, not cooking.
    3. This clutch.
    4. These earrings. Actually, I will take two of everything on the elseware.com site.
    5. This postcard.
    6. This calendar. Obviously.

+ I had a dream last night that my teeth were falling out. It is a reoccurring nightmare I have. And perhaps the most annoying thing about going to sleep. I heard once that when your teeth fall out in dreams it means your subconscious is telling you your life is out of control. Duh. I do not need a horrible dream to tell me that.

+ I am realizing that if I am serious about this whole BOOK thing I have to stop sharing my projects online. No one wants a book of ideas they have already seen. The lovelies in the above photo are a new mini book. Dandelion magic from here and here.

+ Quite often Paul says something along the lines of "Babe, you know what we really need? A insert kitchen tool here." And I love to smile sweetly and say, "Babe, we can register for that." And suddenly he looks as though we really do not need said kitchen tool. It is an interesting social experiment.

+ I got a $14 haircut today. I have no qualms about spending $7.50 for a letterpressed greeting card, but a hair cut? I think I am missing the glamorous gene. But at least I can say with my straggly head held high that I steer clear of e-cards.

+ Tropical Storm Hanna is outside, college football is inside, I have a floor full of laundry that needs to be folded, we have friends coming for dinner tonight AND hooray, hooray – my teeth are all correctly nestled into my jaw bone.

Saturday, you fun-loving day you, rock on.

    Happy weekend. Make it good.

Who doesn't need a VOTE stamp? I have taken to stamping it on the back of cards/bills I mail out. Come late October, I may just start stamping it on people's foreheads.

When I saw this in my mailbox today my first thought was, "Hooray! My new veer.com catalog!" My second thought was "Save Polaroid!" And my final thought was, "Seriously? Nordstrom?"

So far September is so slow. I think I am trying to catch up from this past weekend o' fun. I am lumbering around, sleeping in too late and NOT getting my to-do list tackled. That has got to change.

I made an executive decision last night to pull a Jamaica and collect calendars. Last year I bought 4. This year I might just buy 400. So far, this and this are on their way to me.

Hmm. Am boring myself. Never good. I have a three day weekend starting tomorrow. Big Plans To Get It Together Then.

layout for the new scrapjacked. stamps by apple blossom studio. embosser by paper source. papers all random.

It is a Monday. And a new month. And a good time for adventures.

I have plans upon plans to accomplish this month. A list so long, it overwhelms. But there is something so AMAZING about a new month. Thirty new days to get it done. First on the agenda: I need to get Microsoft Office for Mac. I have spreadsheets to build, proposals to dream and a book to write.

I am off like a herd of turtles.

I always find it a wee bit tricky to blog summaries of weekends spent with friends. Which makes sense, when you think about it; inside jokes and knowing glances really do not translate well via the internet.

I am blessed with great friends. Indeed.

I am so excited to see her. And tell jokes with her. And talk about all the same blogs that we read. And talk about how we really do not know all the people in the blogs we read but we feel as if we do. And discuss at length how their kids are so cute. And finish sentences for each other like this one:

"And did you see the new-"
"-offset eggpress calendar?!? Yep, already bought it."

And there will be wine and beer and pros and con lists about what would be the best names for our future children/her future husband. And of course intense discussions involving our career paths and lifelong goals. And recent etsy purchases.

Hurry up and get here, V. I cleaned the whole house and bought new shirts just for you.
