Bread no. 1 : a slightly modified version of this recipe.
Adjustments : I used two cups white flour and one cup wheat. Instead of mixing everything together all at once, I mixed the water, yeast and sugar together and allowed that to bubble for about five minutes before adding it to the rest of the dry ingredients and the olive oil. I substituted kalamata olives for black olives.
Notes : this was my first time creating steam in the oven by heating up a tray of water. This made crust of the bread dark brown and crunchy and kept the inside nice and soft. Awesome result but I set off the fire alarm three times from having the oven so hot.
Review : I'm a fan. Especially when it's dipped in a bit of olive oil or topped with a slice of cheese.
