enJOY it

an archived personal and craft blog from Elise Blaha Cripe.

Orna1thegoodsGather the above items. Glue is probably the only thing you may need to buy. I use PVA because it dries super fast. And I am about as patient as a puppy.

Orna1step1

Punch a circle out of a playing card.

Orna1step2

Repeat six times. (If you figure out what to do with the remaining card pieces – please share.)

Orna1step3

Fold each of the circles so the red design faces in.

Orna1step4

Smear glue all over one side of a folded circle.

Orna1step5

Attach glued side to another circle.

Orna1step6

Repeat until you only have one circle NOT attached.

Orna1step7

Tie a loop in the ribbon and lay it on the still open side of the circles.

Orna1step8

Add glue to the open sides and attach the last folded circle.

Orna1step9

Trim the other end of the ribbon and secure with a little knot.

Orna1theend

This is a very easy process. It took me much longer to type up this post than it did to actually make the ornament. DO IT.

Wow! That does look easy, yet super cool. I love the slightly Asian-feel those ornaments have. Or is that just me?

They look great!! I used to make similar ornaments with my grandma! We used recycled Xmas cards, but instead of folding them in half, we would fold 3 sides and join them!! Nice tutorial btw! xx
