I made "choose your attitude" cards for work a few months ago and am finding they have good use at home as well.

I am a bad blogger. Again. Ouuch.
But.
I am working on it.
I downsized at work to become part-time and now I am finding myself working more than ever. Which, I suppose, is okay as long as everything stays interesting. Maybe in November life will settle down? Maybe? Maybe not? Perhaps December? Or January?!?
Part of my reasoning for wanting to work part time is that I wanted to have more time to focus on things like yoga. But, I have yet to even break out my mat. I have realized that not doing yoga is not a problem of minimal time but a problem of minimal discipline. And, as it turns out the first step is admitting you have a problem…

Am totally hooked on When We Left Earth, a Discovery channel show about Nasa flight missions. Tonight we watched the first two episodes – starting with the Mercury 7.These guys FLEW PEOPLE INTO SPACE with little more than graph paper, pencils, cigars and compasses.
I love hearing about how 100 million people tuned in to watch John Glenn orbit the earth. I love the idea of everyone being united in something so groundbreaking. I love that John Kennedy, in a speech to the United States, announced "We choose to go to the moon. Not because it is easy, but because it is hard."
How fantastically inspiring.

I am so mad about that and other things that I do not even want to watch Grey's.

Oh, Wednesday. You are lazy and interesting and busy and boring at the same time.Stopped by the used bookstore this morning. I walked out with The Alphabet by Frederic W. Goudy. Goudy as in the font. Also bought a book of nearly unfilled crossword puzzles. And it might be weird, but that makes me giddy.
Spending the afternoon listening to Pandora, reading, filling in little boxes and cropping paper for a new art journal kit.

Tonight just as I was leaving the gym, Paul was arriving. This was our first time seeing each other today and quite the cause for celebration, obviously. We chatted about normal stuff and then he said, "Did you go to Target today?" When I responded yes, he looked crestfallen."Why?" I asked, pretty sure I knew what he was sure I would have forgotten to buy.
"We are out of detergent."
"Yep. Got it." I smiled. And then we both sort of did this fist raise thing simular to what you would see on the sidelines of a football game. And I realized again how happy I am on this team.

Thank you, Blogland.
Yesterday, I got home from work and started crying. My arches, my heels, my calves and my shins all hurt. I was a mess. I was a before poster for a podiatrist office. Or something.
And so I looked up the footwear recommendations from you guys. And most were very good. I was going to order them all on Zappos and then try them on, pick the best and then return the bad ones. But instead, I went to see them live and in person after work today.
You may have heard, but flat shoes are generally flat. They have a thin strip of fake
leather that separates your foot from the hard ground. What I was looking for on my shoe quest, was a relatively flat shoe with an arch support and some sort of thick sole. Like an awkward person, I walked into every shoe store and stuck my fingers in any floor model shoe to feel the arch support. If the arch checked out okay, I then judged the shoe based on looks.Dad, I bet you are so proud of me.
I ended up with two pairs of shoes. One by Clark's (thanks, Julie!) that I cannot find a photo of onine (I'll take one for you) and one pair of – hold your breath – crocs. These in brown. And I think that with jeans they will only look 70% odd – but my feet will feel like they are walking on pillows. Which is truely the point anyway.
I am going to keep this list and refer back to it. I hope to slowly replace my worn out and painful shoes with 100% healthy shoes. And Jess, I am still waiting on your stellar recommendations…

I am in the market for some shoes. Dressy flats, causal flats and boots. All of them. Any of them. I will truly buy every single pair that both look hot and do not hurt my feet. I can make this grand statement because I believe there are approximately three or four pairs that will fit this criteria.
I spend all day on my feet. And not just standing around but walking and getting on step ladders and running upstairs. I wake up in the mornings and my feet ache. I need to do something about this. PLUS it is about to become winter which means I also need some sort of warmth. Last year I skated by with just a few pairs of flats. And by skated I mean I actually skated and slipped along the ice. This winter, I would love to look more poised than last year as I wander outside.
(Although I doubt if I wear that jacket again people will care about my feet.)
