August 2015

Last week, as I was prepping my August film post, I thought about all the photos I have taken of Ellerie in her crib this past year (turns out I only missed it two of the twelve months). I keep my film camera in her room and since I generally try for about a photo a day, I often "remember" to grab a shot when I am heading in to get her up from nap. Usually, this makes for great photos and recently this means we have some fun bedhead happening. (Soon we really will have to make that toddler bed transition and then I'll have another baby girl to photograph in this crib.)

Not going to lie, I teared up a bit going through these photos. Not because it "went by so fast" or because "I wish I could stop time" but because these photos vividly show my girl growing up. Watching her personality emerge is my greatest joy and seeing a comparison like this feels a bit like a highlight reel of your favorite show.

I love you, Ellerie. Keep growing.

One of the best things about young children are the facial expressions. Ellerie’s are priceless!

This is just the best. 🙂 I can see her growth so much in these photos as well.
I, do not have children…. am no where close as I’m only now coming up on 20…. but I did finally purchase my first DSLR camera and a couple of lenses, so I am excited to start documenting life in more vivid detail and learning more about photography. Your posts are always inspiration for me to do this, to see a payoff like this!
    Have a fantastic week Elise!

How sweet this is, love seeing her face in each one. She wakes up pretty happy and is happy to see you each time I bet.
I have pictures of the little ones I babysit for in front of our living room window over the span of 7 years. LOVE going back over them and seeing their growth and changes in toys and personalities during each stage.
That last one of Ellerie is my favorite I think, so hard to pick just one.

Going thru photos of my 2yo son, I realized I had a ton of photos of him in his crib as well and am currently waiting for the photo book I put together! Eek! I love crib photos I think I took so many because it’s the only time he’s contained/sitting still.

So, so good. I have tons of photos of my little guy before he started moving, and much fewer in the last year (he’s 3 now) – thanks for the reminder to take more pictures so I can watch him grow.
On another note, isn’t it amazing how one day they have no hair, then a couple of months later its everywhere? = )

    Ohhh just love this post!
You tend to forget a little bit how small they were and then bam, they’re talking (and have hair!)! Thank you for sharing 🙂
