I'm working on documenting our week for Week in the Life. I forgot how intense this project is! Instead of capturing every little thing each day, I'm just trying to capture something. In the evenings, I'm jotting down what happened and throughout the day, I'm making a point to have my big camera out to grab some photos. Early next week, I'll combine them (plus some iPhone shots) into my album (I ordered this kit from Ali). Above are some favorites from Monday and Tuesday.

This week on ELISE GETS CRAFTY, I'm chatting with Caroline Burkle about re-building (or re-finding) a routine. Subscribe or stream here.

These are so pretty! I love hte idea of week in the life, but I’ve never attempted it because yeah, it sounds intense! Thanks for the inspiration though.

    Elise,
I noticed E is standing pretty tall in the bathroom at the sink. My 20 month old is just getting coordinated enough to do this to help brush, etc. but we have a pedestal sink and it’s rather tall. Can I ask what she is standing on? I find most stools aren’t tall enough. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing these! This is my first time attempting week in the life and it’s been inspiring to see everyone’s photos. I’m struggling a bit since my day job is not super photogenic and the lighting isn’t great in my apartment, but I’m already so happy with what I’ve captured so far.

Oh, I am failing so hard at week in the life, but that’s okay! Maybe I’ll get the hang of it in five years? haha! As always, love your photos!

Love your big smiles in the first photo! So sweet.
With our baby girl due in October, I’m trying to think of some fun and sweet ways to capture her life and growth. I haven’t done much crafting in ages, but pulling out my iPhone is easy enough to plan for an album. Any ideas?

It’s a wooden step stool from ikea! She does pretty well on it. 🙂

I would say photo books! If you’re primarily using an iPhone there are so many apps that make it easy from artifact uprising to chatbooks. 🙂 congrats mama!!

I’m really looking forward to seeing what you do with your WITL. I was so happy to read you were doing it. (Also, there was absolutely nothing wrong with your first post yesterday. I’m sorry you felt you had to change it. I don’t understand much in life anymore. Haha. Thanks for being real.) Michelle t

The idea of capturing ‘something’ is SO encouraging! I always skip projects like this because I feel too much pressure to get everything documented. But capturing something is definitely better than nothing at all!

Great photos Elise….I read your blog everyday but don’t always comment. These photos are great and YES it is very intensive. Funny people think making a commitment to take a photo everyday of the year is full on however this 7 day project is way harder (well not harder) just more intense however the benefits are just amazing. This is my 6th year and I love it. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia
