WEEKENDQUOTE

some cool stuff from around the Internet this week…

feel like a pep-talk?

interesting point on "the make-up tax."

a co-worker of Paul's recently told him about this book. I'm intrigued!

brilliant photo calendar idea!

cute in every color.

great post about meal prep, I'd love to work something similar into my weekend routine.

what a fantastic quote from Mindy Kaling.

"What I wish I’d known in college is that most people’s work shape-shifts in unforeseeable ways." – four steps to choosing a college major.

#doitfortheprocess…wise words from Emily Jeffords

I wear this beautiful ring on my index finger in honor of Ellerie and think I might add this simple one when the new baby arrives.

how to write a condolence note.

Love your weekend links. My cup of coffee always feels so sad on Saturday mornings because most blogs don’t post over the weekend…I think I saved, pinned, or bought everything on this list 😉

Love the ring. And such a fun idea! (Hmm…might have to do that after our first baby is due?) 🙂
Thanks for sharing the condolence post. Really helpful + reassuring.

That post on meal prep is exactly how I handle food these days. I find it so much easier to fill the fridge with components that can easily be combined into a simple meal rather than planning on specific recipes every night. I try to take some hours on Sunday morning and cook a couple of chickens, bacon, a bunch of hardboiled eggs, protein cookies, salad dressing, quinoa, roasted potatoes and/or potato salad, and sometimes a giant batch of pancakes for the freezer. It’s a ton of work but it makes cooking for my family so much easier and makes me sooo grateful all week to my Sunday self. I always keep salad fixings in the fridge too.

The Mindy Kaling quote came from a longer excerpt from her new book that was published in Glamour recently. I read the piece today and she essentially says “you gotta do the work.” I figured it is right up your alley – http://www.glamour.com/entertainment/2015/08/mindy-kaling-guide-to-killer-confidence

My European history class is going to read that book (A History of the World in Six Glasses) throughout the year, as it applies, and the other sections when we have extra time. I was very intrigued when it was mentioned that that would be our outside text this year! I’d love to hear what you think of it when/if you read it!(:
