We had a low-key Easter weekend around here.
My brother, Rob, came took the train down from LA Saturday afternoon. Ellerie has met him just a few times but this was the first time she said "Robbie!" to him, which was all kinds of adorable. Ellerie loves any adults that want to play so having a third in the house was a Big Deal.
We watched March Madness and ate a non-traditional Easter feast of spaghetti and meatballs Saturday night.
On Sunday, I made pancakes and we drank coffee in our PJs. Then I got Ellerie into her Easter outfit (everything is Target, except that dress which is Tea Collection from a few years ago) and we headed outside to hunt for eggs. Thanks to all the practice we'd done (at Target, where else?) she totally understood the concept and loved to throw the eggs in her basket.
After the hunt (which was way too short) we showed her how to open the eggs. She was completely un-interested in the mini-marshmallows and fruit snacks I had tucked inside. Next year, we'll try M&Ms. After the hunt we went to a new service at a local church.
The holidays get better and better and better with a kiddo. The difference between Christmas just a few months ago and Easter was crazy. I cannot believe how much she is starting to understand. It's amazing. I am so thrilled and honored to be a mama to this sweet bug.
Hope you have a great week!
