scrap yarn knit blanket

Last year, while I was knitting my 29 blankets, I knitted one extra (I think it was number 19). I didn't have enough of two yarns colors at the house and I was wanting to knit so I just started adding scrap yarn together. Of course, then I ran out of scrap yarn and had to go buy more to actually finish this blanket.

Originally, I thought I'd sell it as one of the 29 but then realized that would be so random. 28 striped blankets and then this one! This random one! #odd.

So I kept it aside and powered through the remaining blankets. And then sold them in November.

This one is still special to me though. I love the look. I love the warm color palette. I love the crazy changing yarns.

Like all the blankets, this was knit with simple back-and-forth garter stitch on size 15 needles. (I did 60 stitches per row if you want to make your own.)

Elise! You kill me with your craftiness! I’ve been a reader of your blog for a little over a year now and I have to say what I love so much about it is how honest and personal you make all of your posts feel… Like we’re already friends! You have such great content and insight and I’ve always loved your letters to Ellerie, your motivational posts and simple ones like the iPhone timer app which I use all the time now to take pictures with my baby and family 🙂 Thanks for running such a great giveaway because this blanket rocks!

So so lovely! I started reading your blog after I found you on Instagram about a year ago. Your little Ellerie is a few months older than my Evelyn. I loved that both our girls had sweet “E” names haha. I’m so in awe of your creativity and the fact that you’ve been able to make a career out of it! That would be my dream. My favorite blog posts are any of the ones featuring Ellerie and your story of how you began your own business. You truly are an inspiration!

I’ve been reading your blog since around the time you were planning your wedding. I love your posts about pizza and bread making, but my fav one from 2014 is about the completion of your backyard. I’ve been stressing about my own backyard, and yours is just so full of ideas! Thanks for always being such an inspiration!

Been reading your blog for a long time now, not really sure how long but I would guess from the beginning. I read it every morning before getting out of bed it’s how I start my day,😉. I don’t know if I have one favorite post from last year, they all seem to speek to me in different ways. I would say most of all you have taught me that it’s ok if you fail at something or it doesn’t work out just bush yourself off learn from it and move on! I appreciate that lesson very much. I learn from you and that’s what I love about your blog. Thank You. Love the blanket and it would get a lot of use here in CO!

I’ve never been a comment leaver, but that blanket. Gorgeous.
Ive been reading your blog for about 2 years now, not long, but it found me at the perfect time. My life was kind of in shambles for a while. Ive since read every single post from beginning to end and its inspired me to pick up the pieces and helped me make goal setting habits.
My favorite post from 2014 is hands down every letter to Ellerie. I had a little one two months later, and I felt like I was reading into my future. The raw emotions in each one, I felt them. I had difficulty with breastfeeding, and your letters made me feel like I wasnt alone. So from reader to blogger, thank you.

I think I’ve been reading your blog since Emma&Elsie linked to your Rope Plant Hangers from 27 materials, and the last year or so I’ve been reading everyday (+ checking out your archives, especially on goal setting and motivation). It’s difficult to choose one post, since I’ve really liked everything on goal setting and make29, but if I have to choose, I’d say the post about time spent consuming vs. time spent creating; that one really hit me.
Thanks for including international readers! Fingers crossed xx

I’ve been reading your blog for a couple of years. My aunt told me to read it when I started Project Life. Now we talk about you in our emails as if we know you. “Did you see what Elise did?” “Oh, your living room looks very Elise.” Hah! I’ve loved make29, and have been carrying my clutch daily!

This is gonna sound so cheesy – no doubt. Id love to win the blanket ‘just’ because you made it. I cannot remember how i first found the blog..i think i came through a link on a Beautiful Mess years and years ago..it was on the post you wrote about the diy text canvas. I remember scrolling then through your projects and just amazed with your creativity, trying everything and anything. And it was all beautiful and i wanted to have a go at them all, they were all something i wanted to make and hang at home..just like you did.
My favourite post last year had to be the one you posted the vimeo video of your talk at the conference. Hearing you and seeing you was SUCH a pleasure, youre such a sweetheart – god bless you ❤️

From here in the UK I have been reading your blog for almost exactly a year now (your 2014 Project Life cover page on Pinterest sucked me in) and it’s the only blog I check in on as soon as it’s posted at 1pm every afternoon.
I find it so completely inspiring – I’ve been inspired to get involved in some DIY projects, inspired to really seize the moment and “just start” and inspired to really give my all to my home life! My favourite blog “post” from 2014 was actually the series of your business story … I bet you couldn’t guess that it’s inspired me to get out and start working on my own business dreams 😉
