the 30th knit blanket

Last year, while I was knitting my 29 blankets, I knitted one extra (I think it was number 19). I didn't have enough of two yarns colors at the house and I was wanting to knit so I just started adding scrap yarn together. Of course, then I ran out of scrap yarn and had to go buy more to actually finish this blanket.

Originally, I thought I'd sell it as one of the 29 but then realized that would be so random. 28 striped blankets and then this one! This random one! #odd.

So I kept it aside and powered through the remaining blankets. And then sold them in November.

This one is still special to me though. I love the look. I love the warm color palette. I love the crazy changing yarns.

Like all the blankets, this was knit with simple back-and-forth garter stitch on size 15 needles. (I did 60 stitches per row if you want to make your own.)

Been reading for 3 years, found you while searching for ideas on celebrating someone’s birthday when they are far away and found what you did for Paul in 2011 and have been hooked ever since!
Fave post from 2014 is December 29 – specifically your link ‘brand new business venture’, SO excited!! If there was a pre-buy I’d take it!

My heart is beating fast! I love this so much! I’ve been reading for a few years. Four? Five? Elise, you are one of the most inspiring people I know. Well, I don’t know you, but you know what I mean. I feel like we are friends, so that counts. You, along with Rachel, Phoebe, and Monica. My fave post has to be your business story series. I had my high schooler follow along too because there was so much solid info in that. Oh, also the Portland talk series. So good! AWESOME blanket, by the way. Been reading since June 2014 and my four girls (13, 12, 10 & 2) and I LOVE your knitting posts (we have made 11 (!!) of your cowl pattern (archives 2012) with 2 more on the needles right now – they make FABULOUS gifts). That blanket is beautiful! I’ve been reading for years… I can’t remember when/how I found it, so it feels like I’ve know about your blog about as long as I’ve been reading blogs! I don’t think I can pick a favorite 2014 post, because I’m always happy to see your posts show up in my Feedly. BUT, your Chemex post, where you mentioned weighing the beans, made me a hero when I bought a kitchen scale as a birthday present for my coffee-fanatic husband!

Oh my, how long have I been reading? Since well before Ellerie for sure. I don’t know that I could pinpoint a favourite post, although I do love the ones in which you detail your creative process, as those always get me fired up about my own potential projects. I will say, though, that yours in the blog I’ve followed most consistently, as others change in ways that don’t fit me any more, or go away altogether, or post so infrequently. But yours is a consistent moment of calm each morning with my oatmeal and tea before my feet hit the ground in go-mode. So thank you, Elise, for the daily glimpse into your life and work. Beautiful blanket. Thanks so much for a chance to own it. I have been reading your blog since it was mostly about scrapbooking and printing. Don’t know how many years ago that was, but you still dating Paul. I saw it on Scrapbook Oasis (a moment of silence please). I think my favorite posts are when you rate the books you’re reading. I think it’s the best one! Since I guess my chances are pretty small: can you tell us more about it, what kind of wool did you use, how big is it? I adore the colour-combination!
I discovered you when you were pregnant, I guess around May of 2013? I love all your posts but especially the cowl tutorial, I started (taught myself) knitting because of it and I am almost done (second version since I used the wrong wool for the first one…)

I’m also one of your silent readers. been doing it for about three years. every day at 2 p.m. (my time = vienna, austria.) your post appears on one of my screens. it’s difficult for me to say which one of your posts was my favourite. I liked the one with the colorful wedding, your letters to your sweet girl and the cooking posts. I ordered your seafoam edition and it’s still waiting in my shelf to be used. I’m a digital scrapbooker and want to use it when my girl (now 4 yrs.) is in school so it makes sense to collect her scraps and writings and drawings. it would feel surreal to get a blanket made by you. I am in a blanket every single night since I’ve been a little girl (different climate hehe). again, it would be just so awesome to be the one. and if not, I will continue to enjoy being an observant of your inspiring and honest blog.

I cannot recall since when exactly I have been following your blog… maybe somewhere in 2012, when I was looking for ideas to decorate our new appartment. And then ran into your post about the “painting” with Rise Against’s song words on it, and went “oh my god! this is my favorite song too!!!”. Been reading daily since then. It feels like having a far away friend who shares the same interests and discussing about it togheter (with just you talking, but well… lol 😉 )
Loved your post about your invitation for your new years party. This was so rad!!
(And cannot wait for the planner…!!)

I love all your posts, your blog is a permanent fixture on my browser and one of the first things I read every morning. I was reading this post and was so happy for you that you got to keep one. I almost felt like, it’s Elise.. of course there’s an extra blanket. Of course. That makes so much sense. Like an random twist coming out of the blue, after you’ve finished reading the novel. And then I read that you are giving it away… well now, that’s just so so awesome of you. I’ve been reading your blog now for three years (to the dot, almost). The only blog that I have read without fail, every … single… day. Phew… how long I’ve been reading your blog… I’m not sure – 3 – 4 years? I’ve totally gone back and read ALL the archives during that time too… Now I feel like a crazy stalker…
Favourite blog posts… hm… I really loved the Anatomy of a Blogpost posts, the whole Make29 project and most of your goal setting and business advice posts and ALL the handmade stuff. I’ve been stalking you for awhile but couldn’t say exactly. A few years. I attended Big Picture’s Play! Event in 2014. I follow your blog, IG and listen (and re-listen) to your podcasts. Your most recent podcast with Crystal Moody has changed my life. The idea of a daily creative habit intrigued me enough to go to her blog. Which took me to her favorite books page. Which led me to purchase The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. Which blew my mind and therefore changed my life. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am intentionally making better habits starting immediately and it’s simehing I wanted to do anyway but now I have the “tools” and I have the tools because I tuned in to your podcast. I found your blog through Kelly Purkey’s blog. I’ve been reading for a little over a year.
