heading to the Apple Store because my MacBook Pro went yellow and then blue and then gray yesterday afternoon. I was able to save the most important stuff while in safe mode (safe boot?), but man am I hoping they have a quick fix for me.

trying out a learning tower in the kitchen that gets Ellerie up to counter-top height. It came highly recommended by some friends and blog readers. So far she seems to like it. (And I like actually having two full hands to prepare food.)

gearing up for a new year. Which this season means: thinking about my winter wardrobe, making a list of goals and coming up with a much more simple plan for documenting 2015 (I'll share them all in the next few weeks).

feeling pretty satisfied with the Sons of Anarchy ending. I can't imagine a different way to go out. I also can't believe we watched seven full seasons (admittedly I watched some from behind a pillow). Thinking about starting The Americans or True Detective (or more likely both) next.

working on final GET TO WORK BOOK layouts. I'm feelling very good about this project and hoping to start sharing more about this project early in the new year.

planning my presentation for a ProBlogger webinar next week. I'm answering questions and talking about 10 things I've learned from blogging for almost a decade. You can learn more here. It's free!

reading Crazy Rich Asians with Big Little Lies on deck. I need to write up another book report soon.

joining my friend Robin for a "holiday knit along" these next few weeks. Her team Nebraska is playing my team USC in the Holiday Bowl and she thought it be fun to both knit the same hat in our school colors. This will be my first hat and I'm excited to try it out. If you're working on any knitting projects the season you can join us on instagram with the hashtag: #holidayknitalong.

yep, still making progress on this sweater and already think I'll try this next.

watching the Still Alice preview and getting excited. Also curious about Jennifer Aniston's new movie, Cake, and for sure Paul and I will be headed to The Hobbit soon.

enjoying the season. December, oddly enough, I always feels calm to me. Or at least it will, once the Genius Bar guys fix my laptop.

What's new with you?

If I had one regret in my kids’ lives it’s not investing in the kitchen tower 3 children ago. My excuse was that our kitchen wasn’t big enough/set up to accommodate it, but I wish I’d made it work.
When my (energetic) boys were littler they would calm instantly at the “responsibility” of helping me in the kitchen. The tower would have made that so much easier.
I say go for it! 🙂 Have a great day!

December has always felt calm to me, too. I don’t know what it is… the hustle has never made sense to me. How many gifts are people seriously having to shop for? I go out a couple of times for just a couple of hours. I do a little online. Its not major. I have 3 teenagers and we’ve always had a relaxed Christmas. Keep it up – for me personally, there’s more joy that way. Love your “currently” posts, Elise!

Good luck with the computer fixing. I didn’t know they were making a movie of “Still Alice”. Looks good except I don’t really like Kristen Stewart. I could probably overlook that though.
Crazy Rich Asians is so good right? Makes me both wish I was super rich and also makes me happy I am not and am normal.

I was also happy with how Sons ended. Is it terrible that I would have rather it ended the way it did than have to watch Jax play house with Wendy? Blah. I’ve also been thinking about jumping into The Americans and True Detective. I just hear so many rave reviews it’s hard not to.
Oh! and I have Big Little Lies on my desk ready to be read. You’ll probably get to it before me so I’m looking forward to your review. 🙂

I was mostly satisfied with the SOA ending, although that was probably the worst CGI I’ve ever seen in my life. Maybe they blew their budget on the Springsteen song? I started the first season of The Americans and it was fantastic, but I think it’s one of those that would do better in a binge watch. Justified is my favorite and you might like it if you liked SOA… I think it’s much better. Writing and characters are awesome.

Thank you for putting the movies on my radar!
I am so enjoying burning pine-scented candles right now–my one requirement since we switched to an artificial Christmas tree.

Yay for the learning tower! We didn’t have one and luckily went with not a lot of tripping and falling off the stool (with steps – from Ikea), but I imagine this works great. New with us: Christams secrets (it gets absolutely Magic with capital M at the age of three!!), everyone being sick over the course of a week, and watching season 2 of Elementary. 🙂

We have that exact tower for my 2.5 year old daughter and have had it since she was 1. It is worth its weight in gold. We use it constantly. She cooks with me daily and can safely use appliances and be completely hands-on without me worrying. It’s heavy, sturdy, and the best thing we own. She loves “her bench” and I love it even more! Think of all the bread Ellerie can help you make!!!

Can’t wait to join in and listen/watch your webinar, Elise! Just registered for it. One question, though…it says it’s happening at 11 AM, AEDT. I think Australia is 16 hours ahead of me (Eastern Time Zone) – that means it will be at 5pm (Eastern) on Tuesday the 16th, correct?
Good luck with your computer! Gahhhh always nerve wracking when those things happen!

I struggled with the Americans. I just couldn’t get into in. True Detective is amazing. I need to find it on DVD so I can sit and watch through it again because I am sure there are little bits I missed. Can’t wait for season 2 to start. Hope your MacBook makes a speedy recovery.

Running around like a chicken with my head cut off! Not remotely as organized or determined as you. Maybe next year. Sigh.
Anyway- I think it’s funny that we literally read ALL the same books! Good taste, sister. xoxo

no, it would have been super odd for a wendy + jax love story. this is how it had to be.
we’ve heard good things about Justified too! might watch that as well.

I recently saw the preview for Cake and had tears in my eyes before it was over…it looks so different for Jennifer Aniston and I am nervously intrigued about it (if I almost cry at the trailer, what will happen now?).

Also, randomly I am holding some funds for your summer released planner but in the mean time not sure which planner to go for the start of the year.
Willing to share which one you will be using?
