Paul worked Thursday so our family celebrated Thanksgiving this year on Friday. We baked bread (much to Ellerie's joy), read books, watched some football, made more than enough food, grilled a turkey for the first time, sang the itsy-bitsy spider (on repeat, while wearing all of mama's bangles), enjoyed crazy warm weather and finished with a fire.

I'm learning the holidays mark the passing of time more than anything else. It's crazy to think Ellerie looked like this last year. I cannot imagine her next year. (Though, no doubt I'll be wearing chambray again). A few of these are iPhone photos, but most were snapped by my brother on this big camera. Thanks, Rob!

It looks like you had a lovely weekend. You’re making San Diego look very enticing. I’ve always loved the area, but it’s looking more appealing recently. I think I miss living near the water.

Love the homemade bread! Did you use one of those no knead recipes?

Your comment about the holidays marking time really resonated with me. Since l’ve owned a video camera l have filmed many aspects of the holiday season. Before putting up the tree this year we had a quick look through some footage from years gone by. It was just amazing. What wonderful time of the year. Enjoy that family of yours ❤️

Love that photo of E and P standing in the kitchen with the bowl… Ellerie looks like she’s conducting some sort of magic trick and they both look so intent! Great photos in this post (as always, really).
