Cripe Family-The Goodness-018

On Sunday we were up in Sacramento and able to meet with Geoff and Lisa to take a few family photos. If you've been here awhile, you know Geoff and Lisa are our friends and have photographed our engagement, wedding, some headshots and then (more recently) our friend's wedding.

I vividly remember at our engagement shoot in July 2009 telling Paul we'd just have these guys photograph our lives – they'd be taking photos of our kids someday. I was sort of joking (mostly because kids?! OMG, that's AT LEAST five years away. Who knows what I'll be doing in five years. Spoiler alert: the same exact thing).

And yet, here we are. 1 wedding, 1 marriage, 3 moves, 2 deployments, 1 baby, 1 business, a few hair cuts, more than a few bottles of red wine and 780 craft projects later (Paul's really into craft projects).

When we talked about doing this, I said it might be fun to meet by the state capital where we did our first look in April 2010. They were game.

I didn't realize how game until I got the photos back.

Different season. Different occasion. Same tree. Stronger love. And I'd trade a bouquet for a baby anyday.

Call me corny but seeing your first look photo and then directly below, the photo of your family of three made me teary-eyed. Beautiful progress!
