As part of my word WHOLE this year, I want celebrate the work of others by sharing links to my friends, possible friends and complete strangers who are doing great things on the Internet. This is some of the rad stuff I recently saw online…

sea glass sculptures.

we cooked Brussels sprouts like this three times in the past week (so good!).

such a clever engagement announcement.

"But most of all I learned that life is fragile and far too fleeting to fear failing." – a beautiful post from my friend Kayla Aimee.

giving fewer gifts and more thought.

not sure if carrot cake is appropriate to serve at Thanksgiving, but we're doing it.

two kickstarters on my radar : the best silk blouse, ever and the playground.

if I ever find myself living in a cold weather state, I know what boots I'm buying.

down with mom guilt (it's possible I've already shared this, but even so…it could stand repeating!).

cactus wall art? too cool (and inspiring my nye party decor).

can't wait to tuck these under the tree for Ellerie.

and remember, if you're interested in the JUST START stamp, they are only available through Wednesday.

EJ! If you like those slippers, try these http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/38106?feat=512999-GN1&page=toddlers-animal-paws. Warm and grip perfectly for tile or hardwood. The bottoms are slightly nubby; they don’t show that awesome feature. And the tube top keeps them on even when they are worn in. I have bought a pair every year for the last 6! Also, that carrot cake sounds awesome!! Funny story: our family had a small Thanksgiving so I only made one pumpkin pie for dessert. At the last minute, I realized the kids had never had pudding- so I made some and the kids chose that over pie. Not traditional. But who cares, right? Well, turns out the canned pumpkin was bad and gave us food poisoning- BUT NOT THE KIDS thank God!! So now, we always have a chocolate pudding option. And something other than pumpkin pie! Hope you are enjoying your little bit of away while those blankets cozy new homes.

I love brussels sprouts too, and need to try that recipe, but I always laugh to myself because of Portlandia 😉

The playground! What an awesome idea. I just ordered the midi. Our beach blanket is so gross and covered in burrito mess. I cannot wait for it to be delivered.

Elise! Thanks for sharing my Brussels sprouts recipe. So glad you’re enjoying it!
By the way, try roasting chickpeas by coating them in a little olive oil, sprinkling with salt and pepper, and roasting them at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes, then cranking them up to 400 til they’re deliciously crispy. They make a great snack!

I have a frig magnet that someone gave me that says “Carrot Cake counts as a serving of vegetables” So – if you don’t think the carrot cake is appropriate for dessert, just count it as a side dish!
