Watermarbling

As part of my word WHOLE this year, I want celebrate the work of others by sharing links to my friends, possible friends and complete strangers who are doing great things on the Internet. This is some of the rad stuff I recently saw online…

some fun ideas for how to support our service men & women.

a cream sweatshirt is going to go in my winter capsule wardrobe.

loved this post on the magic of photo editing.

11 more mobile photography tips.

Mailkimp… the brand behind the Serial success.

TOMS plus Target.

oh wow… touchable memories.

if you're not into making your own cowl (and I get that), my absolute fave is the vinyasa scarf.

making friends in your 30s vs. your 20s. (the real estate one made me laugh out loud.)

the latest DIY I've seen that made me want to run out and buy supplies right now.

from me, an article on Coffee & Crumbs about our new normal.

and here's my water marbling tutorial (shown in the photo above).

I also love the ring bowls, and could see making custom soap dishes for bathroom decor.

Hi Elise. I’m not a mother, or close to being one, but I really enjoyed your piece at Coffee and Crumbs. This wasn’t meant to be the takeaway, but I love how openly and confidently you state that you’re a great mother and business woman. We seem to live in a society where its the ‘norm’ to brush these things off and be extremely modest and not give ourselves our correct titles and its incredibly inspiring and and wonderful to see you claim your titles and wear them proudly. As you say, you’ve worked really hard for both of them. This is what someone like me, a 23 year old, needs to hear a lot more of. Thanks for being a constant inspiration. I’m glad you’ve found a new normal.

That coffee and crumbs article is so good Elise. It rings so true; YOUR true. There are so many things written about the (non-existant) balance we all try to find between our roles as mother, wife, worker and our own person, but this is the first one I’ve ever read that genuinely whacked my guilt away. Thank you.
