As part of my word WHOLE this year, I want celebrate the work of others by sharing links to my friends, possible friends and complete strangers who are doing great things on the Internet. This is some of the rad stuff I recently saw online…

as a mama who is constantly considering this stuff, I found this essay inspiring.

what will they think of next?

obsessed with my denim vest. (evidence & good news, it's 30% off with code OHFALL.)

perfect use of a gorgeous hand-carved stamp.

every fall I plan to knit a sweater and every fall I fail. please let this happen someday.

fun round-up of new-to-me children's books.

and speaking of children's books, The Book with No Pictures by BJ Novak looks great.

(you can even watch BJ read it aloud here.)

obviously I teared up watching this.

interesting idea about when to splurge & when to save.

you know how I feel about behind the scenes sharing : this is great.

for the writers : a generic college paper (the ending is the best).

and for the readers : plenty of links to great, thought-provoking articles in this post.

You should definitely knit a sweater! A couple years ago I knit Kate Davies OWLS sweater and it was moderately time consuming (in that its a whole fitted garment instead of a scarf) BUT nowhere as difficult as I thought it’d be and I was definitely not as proficient of a knitter then as I am now. My goal is to finally knit a pair of socks this year!

Love the vest! But Madewell is saying it doesn’t qualify for the promo. Bummed to say the least.

Loved the block print pillow DIY. LOVED it. Looks doable. I used to sew pillows for professional decorators during Christmas break. I was paid $5 a pillow, and could churn those squares out let me tell you. I would shake my head every day that people out there were paying hundreds of dollars for something that took me under ten minutes to complete. Material cost aside, even if you win the lottery, don’t ever pay that for a pillow. (I once helped hem custom curtains that cost $20,000! Crazy twice considering that now that design is hideously outdated.) Love your “Sunday” links. -Me

Kids books – hard to go past Sandra Boynton (for the younger ones) and David Melling for the 6+. The last are so well illustrated
