neon party invitations

Next month a few of my girlfriends are headed to Austin for a bachelorette party. Invitations for this event were not exactly necessary (we'd already booked our flights) but that has never stopped me before. We decided early on that the theme would be neon and I brainstormed the best way to get neon onto my invites.

Enter HIGHLIGHTERS.

So fun! So simple! So cheap!

I designed a text heavy invitation with three fonts (Arvo, GeoSansLight & Grand Hotel) in PSE and printed in black ink on white cardstock.

I gave them a day to dry and then I highlighted the "big words" in four different colors. There was some ink bleed (which seems to always be the case with highlighters and inkjet printers) but nothing too worrisome or distracting.

I LOVE how these turned out. Totally cheeky (but isn't that the point of bachelorette parties?!) and the wording is a bit over the top (but isn't that the point of bachelorette parties?!). But they are so fun and our awesome bride veronica loved them too.

So lovely! Austin is the BEST city for breakfast (Magnolia Cafe, Kerbey Lane, breakfast tacos just about anywhere). I can’t wait to go back.

While you’re in Austin should for sure try to get to the Hope Outdoor Gallery at 11th & Baylor- great place for pics and an awesome view of the city from the top.

Elise, these are darling!! I am also so inspired by the things you whip up (your bachelorette invites, Ellerie’s birthday announcement, baby shower invite) – always simple but wonderfully done.

Nothing beats a set of trusty highlighters. Except washi tape…that trend will never die.
