Eep3

loving this blurry gem of a photo.

celebrating Father's Day and my favorite guy, Paul, with a new grill and endless summer barbeques.

enjoying the "extra" moments that we are lucky to get together.

obsessing over the tight neck hugs Ellerie's starting to give.

preparing for the next MAKE29 launch.

wondering how it's almost the 22nd of the month yet again.

packing for Alt.

checking on my garden six to ten times a day.

wishing there were more bees in my backyard to help pollinate my veggies.

drinking cold brew coffee…

planning to share our process for making it on the blog soon.

reading The Coocoo's Calling and Poser.

listening to the Rent soundtrack on repeat.

watching Orange is the New Black season 2.

marveling over the costume design in Catching Fire (we finally saw it!).

feeling like June is simply The Best.

So far June is simply The Best on this side of the country too (Ohio). I used to be a Fall person, but since having children I have rediscovered my love for all things summer: swimming, playing outside, picking strawberries, lightning bugs, etc. All good things. Continue to enjoy your month and your sweet baby soon to be ONE! 🙂

Sounds like an awesome month for the Cripe family.
I know what you mean about summer bbqs – they’re the best!

We just watched episode 1 of Orange is the new Black last night. I was so tempted to stay up all night watching more episodes, but I made the responsible decision to go to bed. It’s so good!

I’m happy I’m not the only one constantly checking my garden. It’s not as substantial as yours, mine’s just a little container garden with grape tomatoes, cucumbers, dwarf carrots and some herbs. But it’s my first one and I’m insanely proud of it. I’m taking pics too. Michelle t

June is such a lovely month! Loving that photo of your family… it’s it great how precious even those bury ones become when you know the joy behind them?

we don’t have many bees either. some veggies (like zucchini) can be pollinated by using a q tip. just dip the q tip into a flower, move it around a little and then proceed to dip the q tip into the rest of the flowers.

I finished Season 2 last week and now I feel like my life lacks purpose. 😉 My garden has bumblebees like crazy, so I feel like I should’ve planted more! I think planting all the flowers over the past few years is starting to pay off, though my grandpa told me not to plant flowers because ‘you can’t eat them.’

    Great photo of you three!
When they start returning the affection in an on purpose way – it just tugs at your heart strings, doesn’t it?!

You are the only other person I’ve encountered, in person or online, who is obsessed with the Rent soundtrack. I rarely buy music (thanks, Spotify and Pandora), but years ago, when Rent was in theaters, I saw and came home to immediately purchase the soundtrack.

The Rent soundtrack (and pretty much every Andrew Lloyd Webber soundtrack as well) is always on repeat at my house. I just love musicals! Can’t wait to see your upcoming MAKE29 project!

If you want more bees try growing some flowers they are attracted to! I have a container garden in NYC, and am getting lots of honey bees with Borage 🙂
Here’s a pretty illustration of other flowers/herbs bees like http://www.hannahrosengren.com/help-save-bees.html

Try growing some zinnias in your garden! I’ve found them easy to grow, they make great cut flowers, and pollinators love them.

Last year we got absolutely nothing from our garden and we’re convinced it’s because there were no bees. This year we planted lavender to be sure we’d get some and it seems to be working!

Cuckoo’s Calling was my choice for book club and I really enjoyed it (it’s no Harry Potter, but I still like her style). No one else liked it too much, though so I’m the unpopular member of the group now 🙂

Can’t wait for your cold brew technique!! I prefer iced coffee and can’t seem to nail down my own recipe at home…the ratios are never quite right.
