Leaving

I'm headed up north today to teach at the Your Story Retreat.

This is my first multi-night adventure away from the bug and I have a feeling she'll be crawling and saying "Da-Da" before I return Sunday afternoon. I think (hope?!) I've made peace with that.

And overall I am looking forward to getting away for a few days. Even the plane ride (three un-interrupted hours?!!?!!) sounds like a total vacation (if vacation means a chance to plan and write and think).

I'll be officially back at my desk Monday but there are posts (like my March Project Life update) scheduled to run while I'm away. I'm sure I'll be over-sharing here too.

Have a good one.

Have a good trip! And even if Little E is saying Da-Da by Sunday, I bet her face lights up when she sees her Mama! 4 days is a long time for her too!

Have a great time! I’m taking a first trip away from my son in May. I’m a little nervous too but also think that it will be a wonderful recharge. And yes: reading/thinking uninterrupted on a plane? Definitely sounds like a vacation to me! Being a busy mama really helps to appreciate the small joys in life!

I bet you enjoy your break away! When Alice was 6 months we went away for a weekend trip (2 nights, 3 days) because I was a bridesmaid in one of my best friends’ wedding. I was anxious about leaving her but we ended up having a great time (and found out we were pregnant again a month later – oops!).
Plus she totally lit up and reached for me when we got back. Heart melting.

Have fun! I think hours on a plane are truly the only really pure uninterrupted time we have left in this world without devices constantly chirping for our attention.

As a fellow baby-momma, three uninterrupted hours on a plane sounds divine (and I’m afraid of flying!) 😛 Have a great trip!

Have a fun trip! Gearhart is lovely, and the Oregon coast is amazing, even (especially?) when it’s raining!

I’m so jealous! Enjoy your time away. And seriously tho, they always hit those milestone when you’re not around. I spend 24/7 with my kiddos and of course, the oldest decides to start crawling during the 2 hours that I’m away at Bible study. It’s just inevitable 😉

A flight alone – sounds wonderful!!! Coming from another busy mama, I too treasure quiet moments. Please tell us if you teach at this retreat again. I would LOVE to take part!

Look forward to hearing about your experience at the retreat!! I always say I want to go, and have never prioritized the financial piece enough to make it…so I admit I’m hoping to live vicariously through your adventure this year. =)
Have fun, and hope you find a beautiful balance between enjoying your time on your own and savoring the family you’ll go home to!
