Customart

I recently commissioned Elizabeth Chapman to paint a picture for me in her abstract portrait style. I have become such a fan of her work through Elsie & Emma (talk about a talented family!) and was so thrilled that she was willing to take on this project.

This photo of Ellerie and me works perfectly in the abstract style because it's a profile shot. The relationship is the important part, not the faces. I LOVE how it turned out.

Gallerywall

I added it to the gallery wall over our TV (by far the most stared at wall in our house) though I know it will hang in various rooms in various states in various countries as our family grows and moves over the next few decades. Such a special heirloom.

Thank you, Elizabeth!

ps. this makes two family paintings that I'll be hanging on to forever.

Hi Elise, completely love the art its beautiful..
A question completely off topic, I am currently redesigning my blog and it seems that none of my changes are being saved, for example the widths of columns and my banner image – nothing seems to be happening! Has this happened to you? xo

I’m spending a few days at my grandma’s and she has a huge painting of me when I was a baby. My grandma actually passed away many years ago, but my aunt still lives here. No one wants the painting anymore, me either. But I don’t want to throw it away. It’s huge, about 30×20. Ideas, anyone?
Elise, you are a wise woman. You got a small painting…

This is super-lovely. Just be sure to tape the photo onto the back so that they’ll never be separated and Ellerie can hang it in HER house one day. (You know…. things happen!)
    Have an amazing weekend!
    Love.
