Photowall

While I am getting things re-organized, I want to share the statement photo wall that decorated my office for the past eight months. I filled this wall with Instagram photos as part of a project for the Big Picture Phone Photography class that ran this past summer.

I ordered a few copies of 75 different 4×4 photos from Persnickety Prints and adhered the photos to poster board and then stapled the posters up to the wall. It was like building a real life photo mosaic (and obviously, I'm obsessed with a good photo mosaic).

I loved having glimpses of our pre-kiddo life (there were MANY more plant photos in those days) up on my wall and it was fun while it lasted. But, like most statement walls, it was awesome until it was not and then I was ready for the next thing. In my case, the next thing is a tremendously huge clear out and a blank canvas. I can't wait to share where we're headed with the new office.

ps…here's a similar project from A Beautiful Mess that was my inspiration for building a photo wall.

pps…that wall calendar is by Stendig.

Awesome wall! I, too, was inspired by Elsie over at a Beautiful Mess and after some brainstorming with my daughter and my sister we came up with an idea and I ran with it (with the aid of my husband who happily got on board). I’ve had it for about 6 months and still love it. You can find my wall here: http://susanbowers.typepad.com/in_the_storm/2013/06/pin-action-diy-photo-wall.html

I totally want that wall-calendar, I just have nowhere to put it 🙂
The photowwall looks great, although I can imagine I would personally find it too distracting in my office 🙂
Looks like a fun project for elsewhere around the house though!

LOVE your photo wall! I too saw it over at ABM…they have a lot of great ideas but most are too youngish for me. I am excited to see your new space! We live in a newly built home and I am afraid to put holes in the wall…silly I know…so my craft room is relatively bare. Curious how you treat your “new” space.

Fantastic wall, you can never have too many photos. Years ago I pulled pages from magazines and covered a whole wall, which looked good in its own way as well.

Putting them on poster board is a great idea. It looks like it would be overwhelming putting them up directly on the wall. 🙂
