Since we built the new media stand, I've been very slowly adding to the art around the TV. This wall is the one I look at most frequently (that's sad, but true) so it's been considered probably more than any other space in the house.

Instead of just filling it in all in one day, I've added a little bit here and a little bit there over the past few months. Each time something new goes up, it takes me awhile to decide if I really like it. Too often, I'll pause whatever Paul and I are watching, get the hammer and shuffle things around. (I am a real joy to watch TV with.)

I have it at a point now where I am pretty pleased, though I am not sure if that Love Bird print or the metal C is quite right for the space. They are currently keeping the balance though, so for now they stay.

The art in the square frame is by Creative Thursday and it's my newest purchase. I'm a fan of how this square works with the big California print.

The photo of the beach was taken by Paul last spring in Spain. He didn't think anything of it, but I loved it – probably because it reminds me of the gorgeous photography of Christian Chaize. (We have one of his prints hanging in the hall.)

It's not finished, I am not sure it will ever be finished, but it's starting to feel "full."

Looks great with all the different shapes. In my own home, I am planning on using shelves, matted frames, and lots of white since our main family rooms walls are deep red. My mind settles more in simple spaces, but I envy that you are able to decorate like this and it feel so homey. Great look!

This looks great! I’m wanting to do the same thing, but I think I should probably just start and add to it like you otherwise it’ll never get done. What size is the frame with the Creative Thursday print in? I like the size of the frame and matte.

I like the C where it is, but what if you wrapped it with colored ribbon or twine or washi tape or something to cover it and also give it the bursting lines effect that your colored print and the California print to the far right have?

Oooh….what a cute collection of prints & things! Are you going to keep hanging them up the wall? I love those kind of add-to-it-whenever-you-want places that keep evolving in my home, too! 🙂

    Hey Elise,
This is completely unrelated to your post but it seemed the best way to share this with you. Do you like The Fray? They have a new single I keep listening to and it just seems like a very ‘Elise’ song to me, lol.
    It’s called “Love Don’t Die.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzEkl_lTz4Q

First off, the wall looks very nice. Secondly, how do you make the commitment to put nail holes in the wall? The fact that your still debating whether or not you’re sold on the placement of a couple items makes me worry about nail holes in the wall. LOL. This could be the reason after 5 years I have little on the walls in my home. How do you decide on the final placement of everything and commit to the nails? Do you sketch it out? Tape templates to the wall? What if you don’t like it? Do you just fill the holes if you move something? Do you cover them up with what you replace it with?

Looks awesome! I don’t know if the glare in the frames bothers you, but I ended up taking all of the glass out of the frames in our gallery wall because the light from the window was causing a major glare. I like it SO much better now and it’s not even noticeable in the slightest that there’s no glass. Just thought I’d share that tiny tip in case you ever wanted to try it!

I love gallery walls. I did a hallway last winter and now I want to do one everywhere. Would that be tacky, even if the rooms cannot be seen from one another? But I love collecting art and objects and it is the best way to display a number of things. In the old days I made large groupings but it was mostly of art,not objects and no one called it a gallery wall. Baby girl is adorable!
