I mentioned last week that I have been listening to podcasts while walking with Ellerie around the neighborhood. I love it because I feel like I'm getting exercise, Ellerie is getting fresh air and I'm able to learn something interesting at the same time. Recently, I have been really enjoying the Another Mother Runner podcast. I haven't listened to it in awhile but I also really like Dishing up Nutrition. If you are a scrapbooker, I am sure you've heard of Paperclipping Roundtable. I have been a guest on that one a few times and enjoy it as well. I'm always hearing good things about This American Life, Simple Mom and Joy the Baker, but have yet to get into those three.

I would love to hear in the comments what you love to listen to!

And though it seems like there are endless options of podcasts available, I am really interested in starting my own. (Five or so years late to the party, I know.) It was sort of whim when I threw it out on twitter, but I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Ideally, I'd love to chat weekly or bi-weekly about motivation, creativity, making stuff, goal-setting and whatever else comes up. I plan on running through my Rolodex of creative friends and acquaintances as guest hosts, and then building a larger Rolodex of interesting people to share their thoughts. We'll hear from letterpressers, food bloggers, authors, artists, photographers, gardeners, florists, marathoners, inventors, small business owners, moms, dads and more.

This is not a "get-rich quick" or even a "get-rich slow" scheme. It's more of a "Dude, I really want to make this happen" scheme. But I need a little help to get started. If you (or someone you know) can help me launch a podcast (tell me the equipment I need to buy, how to create the recordings, how to make it work with guests, how to upload to iTunes, etc.) please shoot me an email. I am more than willing to pay for assistance and guidance from someone who knows what they are doing. I want to get this rolling soon and know it would be easier if I had some help that isn't just Google.

So yes! Share your favorite podcasts! Email me (elise.blahaATgmail.com) if you know how to start one!

I am so excited to hear that you are starting a podcast! I listen to them everyday while I run. My favorites are Craftcast & Craftsanity. I love the Craftcast app because I have all the episodes in one place and can play them from my iphone. They don’t produce many shows anymore but I still love & listen to the archives.

I have never listened to a podcast but, you can be sure I will start now! I can’t wait for your podcast. You have ideas and interests that need to be shared! Good luck with the endeavor. I really look forward to hearing more and of course listening.

my favorite podcasts are: The Digi Show which lead me to Capturing Magic (and I’m not a digi scrapper OR a big Disney person!) but I absolutely love how Steph runs these podcasts. I always get a lot of inspiration and information around the memory keeping discussions. And so many great ideas, tips and tricks from their pick of the week.
I also listen to and enjoy The BS Report with Bill Simmons from ESPN, This American Life, The Mickey Miles and Let’s Run Disney.
I do listen to Paperclipping now and then but it is not my favorite.

Podcasts get me motivated to do things that are mindless/boring, that scrubbing our bathrooms. I love the Digi Show, that sprang out of PCR. I think it’s brilliant because even though the format is similar to PCR, I learn so much in every episode—not necessarily about digital memory-keeping, but about technology. I would never listen to an hour of technology-teaching podcast but because this is packaged in regular conversations between creative-types, I’m engaged and learn so much. So many things I’ve passed on to friends and when they ask when I learned it, I have to refer them to the Digi Show.
Stephanie produces the show, and has expanded to other podcasts so I would definitely contact her. I would love to do a photography podcast with a similar format myself!
Another favorites: On Being with Krista Trippet

I think you might like The Digi Show – it leans toward digital scrapbooking but it’s really a lot about photography and technology. It started off with the folks from the paperclipping roundtable.

I had not heard of podcasts before you brought yours out – I listen each week while on nightshift and I love it – it gets me threw like music just couldn’t and now I have found the world of podcasts I am really enjoying listening to all sorts of content on my nightshift. What was waited time waiting around for a breakdown is now productive.
    Thank you.
