What happened this week? We were home. Nothing special and not too many photos since I was working to get the eCourse out the door.

Anything special in the spread? Nothing! keeping it so minimal these past few weeks.

Techniques this week : I still love those 5 senses cards.

Overall thoughts : Just sticking with this album. Feeling good to get each week in there.

Ratio of iPhone photos to "real camera" photos : All real camera.

Ratio of photos taken by Elise to photos taken by Paul : All Elise.

Supplies used : Seafoam core kit, Midnight core kit, Freckled Fawn wood chip arrow, Two Peas in a Bucket "hello" badge and wooden card, Kelly Purkey Project Life kit (making things happen card).

Tools used : Design A pocket pages, Fiskars corner rounder, Zig Millenium pen, Rotatrim paper trimmer, Office Depot date stamp, staz-on ink. All photos were printed at home on my HP Photosmart 2575 printer on Office Depot semi-gloss photo paper.

Project Life is a memory-keeping system created by Becky Higgins. I use photos, text and stuff to document our life weekly. You can see all the posts from 2012 here and 2013 here. Do you have a question about how I am tackling this project (including anything about the photos)? Check here.

Always love seeing your weekly PL spreads. I’ve had a little break away from PL whilst getting some other projects done, and can’t wait to get stuck back into some layouts. It’s such a big commitment, well done for staying up to date with it.

General question: what kind of advice can you give for those of us who might lead a more boring existence and need that extra burst of inspiration? And I don’t mean this in a negative way! I mean… For instance, my mister and I work opposite shifts so we really only get to see each other on the weekends. And we really enjoy lounging on the couch catching up on a variety of TV shows on netflix or watching scary movies when we are home together. We don’t have any kids yet, or cute furry critters… I’ve been wanting to jump on the Project Life bandwagon for a while now, but anytime I’m looking at the beautiful kits, I always end up asking myself “what the heck am I gonna document? We are (comfortably) boring people right now.” And then I get a little stressed and start overthinking it and then my brain hurts.
So… Any advice for those who cruise in the slow lane?

    Great Layout! you’re missing a ‘P’. You have an ‘E’ and ‘&’ but no ‘P’ 🙂

I love seeing your PL spreads. You always start the post with the week and that you love this project-please tell me if you truly love this project all the time. You make it see so easy. You make it seem like it comes together like (insert snap here!) that. It can’t be good all the time, right?!? Not hating by any means. Not putting bad vibes out there. Just kinda need to know if you struggle like me with PL and other projects.

Jennifer, I hope you don’t mind my chiming in to answer your question. 🙂
I’ve had “single” and “homebody” and childless friends wonder aloud how they’d do PL. Here’s what I say:
    1) PL is what YOU make it. It doesn’t have to be an everyday thing. You can document things when you’re ready – which may be once or twice a week and that’s perfectly OK.
    2) You’ve already talked about things that you can document: work, TV shows, movies… you can document what a typical day is like for you, your home right now, books that you read, prices of things that you buy regularly, hobbies, collections, goals… there really is no limit to what can go into your PL album!
    HTH 🙂

E, I love the ‘slow’ weeks in PL albums because it documents REAL LIFE, which isn’t always busy and bustling. It’s those weeks that I use “fillers” like grocery receipts, school lunch menus for the kids, pictures of things that I need to tackle (the storage building – ugh!), recipes that I’ve recently tried/want to try… no apologies for the slow weeks!!! LOL

I haven’t decided yet! I think I may use just 3×4 pocket pages to change things up. I will be sure to share when it’s closer to 2014 and I have an actual plan.

I agree with Melissa’s comment … I would focus on doing a monthly spread instead of weekly if you don’t have a ton of photos, or keep it more jouranling focused. I did PL for a year before we had the kiddo and for 6+ months while Paul was deployed and it was just me. It’s harder to find stuff to share, but I am still grateful for what I did capture. 🙂
Hope that helps a little bit!

I love the finished project. I don’t love working on it as much THIS MOMENT as I did a few months ago. That happened last year too. .. it gets boring around month nine! But I am always so glad that I stick with it. 🙂 Hope that makes sense.

I love how colourful and happy this spread looks! And the fabric E is awesome!
In response to Jennifer’s comment, I’m in a similar situation… I live with my partner, but we don’t have pets or kids or gardens or anything like that. I still manage to make weekly spreads, but some of the ideas I include are foods we eat/recipes, lots of photos around the house (since you may lot live there forever), purchases I make, favourite things, places we go like dinner, cool flowers and plants I walk past on my way to work, my car, work, etc. I journal lots too, and love the ideas that Melissa shared!

Jennifer, if you don’t mind, i’d like to add a bit as well?
Don’t just focus on photos, i include tickets, wrappers, recipe i tried, music i listen to, books, tv shows which you mentioned already. Like everyone says make it suit you, just because someone does weekly spread you don’t have to, it is such a flexible system that you can just do it whenever you want and maybe set reminder for yourself and it will create a habit? Or try 8×8 mini album first? Hope you decide to try PL it is the best thing i started 🙂
    Good luck!

Thank you so much ladies!!! I think I will give it a go. I’m sure I’ll have more to document in the coming months since I’m newly engaged and will be planning a wedding set in May… But I was really curious about the “filler” moments. I really appreciate all your suggestions! They’re all very helpful, and I’m pretty excited to try it out now. 😀
