We've had a wonderful string of gray mornings (before the heat of the afternoon hits) and I've been taking advantage of them and getting Ellerie out for walks in the stroller. She's not quite sure what to make of these walks yet, but she sits quiet and alert, taking it all in. I also get some quiet and alert time from them too which is nice. I can see these walks becoming a big part of our morning routine.

In other news, the autumn decorations are slowly filling corners and the stack of books on my nightstand is growing. I can thank the library for curing me of my Candy Crush addiction. (Hi, I'm Elise and it's been one week since I last opened the app.) I couldn't concentrate on reading towards the end of my pregnancy and then in my post-baby haze I had forgotten the magic of books. But I am so back on the reading train and it feels good. Book report coming towards the end of the month.

Thank you for your enthusiasm about the quilt eCourse. It feels great to have it out in the world. To make a fun promo for Instagram, I cut letters out of fabric scraps and then I had a few folks ask if I'd sell it as a print. I went for one better and make the high-res image a download. If you want to make a print for your wall or save as your desktop, you can click then right click to download and save the square .jpg here and rectangle .jpg here. Personal use only please.

It's just a half weekend for us because Paul's working tomorrow, but we're going to do our best to enjoy it anyways. I hope you have a good one.

I love autumn decorations! I just have one question – How do you store your seasonal decorations when they’re out of season? I would like to decorate seasonally but right now I’m reluctant to dedicate space to storing stuff I only use once a year.

So I guess I have to be the one to ask about the calendar… I have had an obsession with office supplies since I was a wee one. I really like the look of it.

THat basket – on my list of projects that I want to do – and actually think I might have a chance of making look decent!
We are right there with you with a husband working this Saturday.
Amazes me how weekends that the Husband works has been so different with kiddos. I used to relish a whole weekend day to do as I please… friends, day trips, flea markets… selfish me time that I didn’t feel a bit guilty about. Now with babies, I have to fight pouting the weekends my husband works. He is usually on 24+ hours of call in the hospital – so it eats up almost two days.

When I was a baby, my mom walked every day, carrying me in a Snuggli. She says it really helped her, and I think it’s made me be a real outdoors person who loves to walk, as an adult.

You cracked me up with the reveal of your Candy Crush addiction! I am not one to play games, and I am addicted as well. I even went so far as to cheat my tablet to get extra lives…what is wrong with me! The only thing saving me now is that my son is being a tablet hog. I ❤ books, too! I look forward to your book review. And I wanted to let you know that you inspire me to be an “executioner”. Totally loved it when Paul said that–so funny!

There is nothing better than a big stack of books, eh? Wild was fantastic – you’ll definitely love it. Also, Reese Witherspoon is playing Cheryl Strayed in the movie version.

I am in the process of planning a MAJOR office revamp! It’s pretty daunting and exciting. I will be sure to share what it looks like right now though too… hopefully in the next few weeks.

A potentially very weird question – how often do you sweep & dust? Your home always looks spotless! (I mean this as a compliment)

I sweep daily(ish) and our robot vacuum runs once a week. I dust when I see dust to be dusted…so every two weeks? 😉

I don’t know how you do it all, and I can’t help but be impressed. I too have enjoyed these Fall-ish mornings here in San Diego. On instagram I had a brief exchange with you about SD’s new library. I just posted about our first little trip there. They did a fantastic job. Hope you and your little gem get to enjoy it soon if you haven’t already!

I love that you’re making that basket. I put it on my project list after I saw it on your blog. Good call using the needle. I thought about using a tapestry needle. I hope it works.
