enJOY it

an archived personal and craft blog from Elise Blaha Cripe.

Septcurrently

waking up extra early to get some work in.

sleeping with the windows open and under extra blankets at night.

experimenting with a pumpkin bread recipe.

watching season two of Homeland.

so enjoying seeing Paul fall more in love with Ellerie.

making it to yoga every Tuesday.

calling Ellerie "bug," "buggie" & "buggaboo."

placing books on hold at the library.

writing quilting eCourse lessons.

wearing a temporary tattoo on my left forearm.

ordering my 2014 planner (already!).

planning out the steps for our backyard landscape.

dreaming about an office reorganization.

hanging art above and around our tv.

drinking amazing coffee.

cherishing our cuddle time after Ellerie's first feeding each morning.

feeling excited for fall.

reading Wild with Prodigal Summer on deck.

loving on my sweet girl.

witnessing her change & grow daily.

finding that balance comes easy some days and difficultly on others.

Prodigal Summer is a joy. Possibly my all time favourite novel. Hope you love it as much as I do!

Wild and Prodigal Summer are two of my top five-ish favorite books. (I say “ish” because I’ve never actually compiled such a list.) For sure.

Season Two of Homeland is Epic, and it gets better as the season goes on. I can’t wait for Season Three!

My husband and I are planning to move from California to Ontario, Canada (where I’m originally from and where my family lives) next summer… so I bought my 2014 planner this past week! So excited about all the things I’ll be able to write in there very soon!
Also, my sister-in-law (who will be 18 in December) has been called Bug since she was a baby, too 🙂 We still call her that, but usually only around family. I think it’s such a cute nickname and had never heard it until I met my husband. 🙂

It’s amazing to me that so far away and at different stages in our lives (I’m in Ohio and have 3 children), we can be doing such similar things.
My husband and I are on a Homeland kick; love it. And I’m about halfway through “Wild”; love it. It’s the best book I’ve read in awhile. We’re sleeping with the windows cracked at night and using an extra down blanket. My oldest son has been our “bug” since he was born. It stuck so that his first birthday party was bug themed. When he’s sad, he’s my “Buggie” and when I yell, “Bug!” he’s my only child that answers. 🙂
I guess that’s part of the magic of blogging and the internet- feeling connections with people that you might not know otherwise. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

I read Wild this Summer, absolutely loved it, made me think a lot about who i want to become and also somehow made me want to hike the PCT (i’ve never hiked before obviously). Hope you’ll love it too!

Oh, I hope you enjoy Prodigal Summer! I think it’s my favorite Kingsolver. It gave me such a different perspective on the interplay between my own free will and my biological nature as a woman… something I’d always felt was in conflict. It’s the kind of book I would have loved to discuss with a book club 🙂

Thanks for turning me onto Plum Paper – I ordered their planner last year and am loving it! Been contemplating a 2014 one myself.

Love these lists! And love that those planners now have “notes between the months” pages instead of just the various weekly spreads. Wanted one last year but didn’t like her weekly spreads, but the notes feature is something I’d use all the time! might just go ahead and get one!!!

I’ve just read a post that I thought you should read about exactly what you were saying the other day about achieving 3 things a day and how after Ellerie came along you couldn’t achieve anything. Check it out on Andrea Dekker.com
The first baby is such a shock to your busy routine and even if people say your life will change when a bay comes along you hear them but you don’t believe them until you are living it as how different can your life be when all a new baby does is eat, sleep and need nappy changes. I just thought from one very goal orientated person to another you would relate to her post “why motherhood sometimes makes me feel like a failure as a person” regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia

If I was interested in creating one of these “Currently” posts, would it be alright if I used your format/words? With credit to you, of course. I’ve been wanting to make one of these but I’m unsure if it will be ok to use and your format looks like it works great.

How do you use your planner in conjunction with your phone? What goes where? I try keeping everything in my phone but sometimes I wish I had a planner. I just don’t want it to get redundant and I definitely don’t want to forget where I put information.
