This week I signed up for a library card. This has been on my to-do list since we moved to San Diego the first time (three years ago) and so to say I feel accomplished (and a bit sheepish) is an understatement. So excited to have free and easy access to books. I know as Ellerie grows we'll spend more and more time there. Very cool.

Yesterday, I took photos all day to share a "Day in the Life" here on the blog and in my Project Life album. I uploaded the first half yesterday afternoon and found myself tearing up as I looked through them. (This may say something about my current hormonal state.) It was hard to put my finger on the reason for my tears (of joy) but I guess it's amazing to me how much my days have changed but how much is exactly the same too. It's an odd mix of a much slower pace (while she is awake) and high speeds (while she sleeps). I have to say … I love it.

Today my mom is coming down to visit for a few days and we are all excited. It will be awesome to see her (and show her how much Ellerie has changed in just two weeks!) and I'm hoping to get ahead on a few projects (there are currently three quilting adventures in progress) while I have an extra set of hands.

Have a great weekend.

Can’t wait for the ‘day in the life’. Wish our library cards were as delightful as San Diego’s. Ellerie is such a darling who is stealing everyone’s heart from afar.

I’m amazed how you manage to take everything life throws at you in your stride! Impressed how you’re adapting to the new “schedule” 😉

Ellerie has grown so much. Seems just like yesterday we were all ooohing and aaahing over her teeny tiny newborn newness.

I felt the same way when I (finally!) signed up for a library card about 2-3 years ago – I hadn’t had once since I was a kid (embarrassing!) and it’s a total game changer. For one, I’ve spent $0 on books since then (and read a lot more!) and two, the best part is being able to check-out e-books through my iPad! I hope your county has a similar system – it’s the best!

I love my library, I go every Saturday morning to pick-up my books on hold. Sometimes it takes awhile to get the book I want but its worth the wait. We also caught up on Dexter from the library!

I’m a nanny and know what a huge blessing those Ergo carriers can be!! I’ve got two little ones to watch (5 months and 6 months) and I almost always have one in the carrier and one in the stroller when we go for walks. So great that Ellerie loves hers!

We go to the library at least once a week and LOVE it. Our trips have evolved over the years from tasting everything in sight (gag) to peeling the 7-yr old out of the book aisles. It’s awesome.
That orange romper is one of my favorites. We’re big romper fans too. And we live for the Ergo. Glad yours is getting a work-out too. 🙂
ENJOY your mom this weekend. Like I said before, there is something so special about sharing the gift of your children with your parents. They’re the only people in the world that NEVER get tired of hearing your “kid stories”. ❤

Oh, we had that doorway bouncer and I ADORED it! We both did! Best $30 I spent on a baby item, hands down. I used that for my son for well over a year (ha, probably a bit longer than I should have, but he was a late walker) and I’m still figuring out how to take showers without it. He loved bouncing and it was amazing for showering, cooking dinner, or getting a little work done. I even took it when we traveled and to meetings! Enjoy it, it won’t last!
Love your blog and your thoughts on mommyhood!

I took my baby girl to the La Jolla library last week for the first time (at 14 months) and she loved it! There were puzzles, puppets, and tons of books to unshelve. 🙂

Hooray for using the library. I’m moving in a couple of months and can’t wait to get a library card in my new city. I love spending time at the library browsing the stacks, but I’m also a huge fan of requesting items and going to pick them up when they’re ready.

My library card is one of my most prized possessions! We have a great online hold system and self check outs so I have my library card number memorized because I log in online so much! We also have Kindle and e books available, how amazing is the public library?! I have fond memories of going to the library with my mom and she says she took me and my sister because her mom took her, so excited to pass on this tradition to my son.

i love ours and the hold system is the best idea ever:) i love being able to go in and just pick up my books and now that school has started for my girls, we’ll be hanging out there to do homework. for some reason completing homework at the library is more productive than at home:)

Super jealous of the cute library card! Mine isn’t nearly as cute but I still do love it. I lost it not long ago and telling the librarian was kind of like telling a teacher I forgot my homework years ago! I got a bit of a lecture and then she sternly told me that I would have to pay a fee to get a new card. I had to try not to crack up when she informed me that the fee was $1!!! I love the library!
