It's week thirty-four and I love this project.

Week of : August 19 – August 25.

What happened this week? We were home. We got a date night while my parents were here. Ellerie grew into a more animated person. (Watching her develop might be my favorite new hobby.)

Anything special in the spread? Nope. Just the normal stuff. Tons of photos of Ellerie because that is what I photographed this week.

Techniques this week : I had a little card from Stumptown Coffee that was smaller than 3×4. Instead of mounting it on a card that fit the pocket, I just stapled it into the pocket so it floats. The text on both sides will be visable…I'll leave that pocket "empty" next week.

Overall thoughts : Keeping it simple is helping me get through. I for sure have enough photos of Ellerie to do extra inserts each week, but I've decided to just fill the normal pockets for now. I think at the six month mark I'll have a photo book printed with tons of photos of her. We'll see. I have to figure out the best plan…

Ratio of iPhone photos to "real camera" photos : 6 to 5.

Ratio of photos taken by Elise to photos taken by Paul : All Elise and one by my dad.

Supplies used : Seafoam core kit, Midnight core kit, Kelly Purkey wood card, Elise Joy stamps, ChicTags journaling spot, Heidi Swapp letter stickers.

Tools used : Design A pocket pages, Fiskars corner rounder, Zig Millenium pen, Rotatrim paper trimmer, Office Depot date stamp, staz-on ink. All photos were printed at home on my HP Photosmart 2575 printer on Office Depot semi-gloss photo paper.

Project Life is a memory-keeping system created by Becky Higgins. I use photos, text and stuff to document our life weekly. You can see all the posts from 2012 here and 2013 here. Do you have a question about how I am tackling this project (including anything about the photos)? Check here.

I agree with the watching babies is like a hobby. After having my first child I wondered where the day had gone after achieving not much other then watching him grow. Then when my second child came along watching him grow and my first plus the interaction between the two is very time consuming. Forget house work let the day go past with smiles, laughs, children chats, cuddles …. if only I could

I always love seeing your project life pages, and especially love seeing all the pics of your little cutie! She is growing oh-so-much!
I do have one quick question… How did you blur out the photo on your layout? I’ve yet to figure that one out!

Babies are so gorgeous , how can you not photograph them. I’m sure the baby book will be beautiful. Love the floating card too!

I suspect that blur is gonna be an awesome shelf post someday soon. Excited about that!
This PL spread is awesome as always. And since I didn’t win the seat in your class this week (darn!) I’m off to go register now! 🙂

Love your PL. I decided I won’t start PL until we have a baby. My hubby says I can call it Project New Life. Haha.

As always your pages are amazing and filled to the brim of adorable photos of little Ellerie. I really love the way you write on the photo around the subject, as in the one of your feet with Ellerie, it’s effective and in a way saving space for more elsewhere, if that makes sense. Forever inspiring me to want to get out my PL right this moment!

Elise, you’ve inspired me to start Project Life! I was going to wait until January, but Michael’s had an amazing sale this weekend for Labor Day so I went ahead and stocked up. No time like the present to get started!
I’ve been following your blog for a while now–I think I was directed to you from A Beautiful Mess about 2 months before you had Ellerie–and I love reading about you and your honey’s adventures :). Ellerie is one sweet little lady!

I used the “smudge” tool in PSE. It looks like a little finger and you rub it over the image.

I must say that you have inspired me to start and continue my own Project Life. And it’s hard doing that being active duty and in school full time, which I’m sure you are all too familiar with! -Jessica L

Cara, it’s awesome! At the bottom of the post where Elise says “Project Life is a memory-keeping system…”, click on ‘Becky Higgins’. The Becky Higgins/Project Life website has all the info you need on the PL products and where to buy them 🙂

I love your project life posts and so I recently bought some supplies. I want to buy your seafoam kit but I live in Ireland and I’m having some trouble with the link you have provided for international purchase. Any advice on how I can get my hands on it?
