Really good week around here.

My newborn is becoming a baby! I cannot get over how fun it is to see her grow. The expressions are priceless. Her physical strength is awesome. I'm loving this kiddo so much. We made it to yoga this week. I found a great studio that let's moms bring babies. She hangs out on a blanket at the top of my mat and I can stop whenever to comfort or feed her. It's exactly what I was looking for to help me get active again.

During Ellerie's naps, I was able to get out the sewing machine and start working on what will become quilted floor pillows. I was almost giddy at the fabric store picking out colors – it feels like a random combo for me. I am excited about where these are headed and am so inspired to be making again. I have a list of DIY projects – one or two for each room it seems – that I can't wait to share more about and work on this fall. (Can you believe we are almost to fall!?) Super good stuff.

My instagram sale was a success. It was nice to clear out my closet and send pieces to new homes. I am going to work on a post sharing what I learned if you'd like to do something similar. Thank you if you made a purchase or helped spread the word!

Paul's mom and sister are in town which means we get our first real date night in eight weeks tonight. We've decided to make it a fancy night out which is rare for us. Should be an excellent start to a busy weekend of laying around.

Have a very good one.

Those floor pillow colours are beautiful. Is it felt? It’s lovely to read your posts recently and sense a kind of glide to your voice – it’s a sign that you’re getting back into your groove again. It took me til my second was five months old to get that feeling! And with the third he was more like one! The first was so long ago that I can’t remember, but I know the groove I found then was so different and wonderful as, with having him, I found myself. I think I should go and sew now instead of read blogs, otherwise I’ll waste all the inspiring you’re doing for me!

Good Job, Elise! Ellerie really is such a cutie (and you guys as a family), it isn’t just your motherly opinion:) And as for the crying picture, there is no reason to deny that doesn’t happen every once in a while!

The pillows are so fun and colorful! I recently went through a period when I wasn’t making much, moving, unpacking, rearranging. Now I’m finally getting to the decorating and it feels so good to be creating something agian.

I can’t wait to see the floor pillows and a tutorial! We’ve been wanting to do something similar for our pad, because it has a more easy-breezy feel than our past places. Excited to hear about date night, and it’s always a joy seeing what you are up to!

I love the colors and design of those pillows!!! What kind of sewing machine do you use? I’m really wanting to get one & learn how to sew somethings. I want to invest in a good one but not spend too much money on features the beginner type wouldn’t use.

    Hi Elise,
I have been following your blog for several years and love how open you are about your life. Many of your projects have inspired me and I am so happy for your new addition to your family! Ellerie is beautiful and I love her name too!
I wanted to tell you that though I don’t like when babies cry, I LOVE looking at pictures of them crying! Is that weird??? My dad would laugh when babies cried…not in a mean or evil way but he always found it funny when babies cry (as long as they were not crying because of something bad, mostly just being a baby crying).
So THANK YOU for sharing! I look forward to seeing how Ellerie grows into who she is made to be. 🙂
