Iloveaugust
bare escentuals pretty amazing lipcolor in courage, monrow shirred tee dress, argento vivo 'marquise' gold earrings, steven alan twisted gold rope ring, almost makes perfect DIY shelving unit, britt bass navy geo print, a subtle revelry's rice krispies cake, merona chambray button down.

Bit of a random round-up this month. I recently wore that lip color to a wedding and remembered I love it. I'm living in that chambray top. I need an occasion to make that rice krispie cake. (Maybe the occasion can be that it's Tuesday?) And hooray! Paul and I are making plans to tackle that shelving unit DIY…

p.s. friendly reminder that you can shop my closet on instagram until tomorrow at noon PST.

Hi Elise, really random question. I know you print your photos at home now, but when you ordered them, how did you get 6×8 prints? It doesn’t look like an option on Shutterfly or Snapfish. I’m starting to work on a minibook and would love to use your technique of using horizontal 6×8 photos. Thanks!

Have you thought about using Persnickety Prints? They do a lot of scrapbooking and paper crafting sized prints on all sorts of papers as well.

I love that shelf! Thanks for sharing πŸ™‚ I usually just order my prints (matte) from my flickr through snapfish. I’m about to buy a new printer though. β™₯Linz

Hi! Would you be offended if I used this as a blog prompt (full credit of course) I have SO MANY things pinned to my wishlist pin board and I’ve always loved reading your I love list. I think you should bake the cake after the shelf DIY is done πŸ˜‰

I actually made the rice krispie treat cake for a 4th of july party – it’s MASSIVE!! And quite sugary – 20 people at the party could only make their way through 1/3 of the slices. I definitely encourage making it (seriously, nothing is better than a multi-layered rice krispie treat), but recommend doing a mini-version unless you have a large herd with whom to share this delicious treat.

How is your clothing sale on instagram going? I have a bunch of clothes that I’d like to get rid of, was this an affective way or should I just wait for a yard sale?

That rice krispies cake reminds me of my brother (who hated actual cake!) so my mom would make a batch of rice krispie treats and then frost the whole thing. So sweet, bu oh so good. I haven’t had it in years…but this just inspired me. πŸ™‚

I used to order 4×8 photos from scrapbookpictures.com. It looks like persnickityprints.com does offer 6×8 though – so that might be the place to go. πŸ™‚

so far good. 35 out of 37 things have buyers so I am considering it a success. I am able to reach a much larger audience via IG than I would through a traditional yard sale so for me it’s a big win.

Such great ideas for August. I love the idea of the rice krispies cake. Going to have to try that one. I agree, it’s Tuesday.
