I feel like I have a schedule to my week days again.

We've got this temporarily figured out…and I fully understand that every few weeks (days?) life will shift and we'll reorganize. But right now, I am appreciating our little routine. Paul is back at work and enjoying what he's doing (hooray!). Together, we are working on getting extra done throughout the week so we can re-claim our weekends. The goal is no work for either of us from Friday evening to Monday morning.

This weekend is our first attempt. Instead of computer work for me or reading for Paul, we plan on visiting the farmer's market in our old stomping grounds of Little Italy, going out for coffee, watching Dexter season 7 (!!), visiting Lowe's to plan some projects & BBQing. Of course, Ellerie will be in tow for everything, hopefully giving us extra smiles. (She had her first seven hour stretch of sleep on Wednesday night. We all woke up a little confused on how that happened, but fingers crossed it becomes a habit.)

August, so far you're making me very happy. Keep at it.

ps. If you're interested, I recently talked Project Life on the Paperclipping Roundtable and the stamp shop is open again.

My favourite picture from above is the dining room table with your dinner all laid out and little Ellerie watching it all from her little bouncy chair. I hope we can also do that when our little one arrives. So much admiration for you Elise 🙂

This post makes me so happy for you. It’s looking like life is getting back to a new sort of balance. Pizza means Paul is there, shoes mean you’re feeling well enough to run or walk, painting means you’re finding time to yourself to be creative, and Ellerie is obviously the most awesome star of the show. Looks like life is a good mix of all of the rad things.
Taking back weekends sounds great! I’ve been trying to do that, but it doesn’t always happen when there are extra projects thrown in. I have made it a goal to go to the Farmer’s Market every weekend, and I’ve made it every time since I started in March. It helps me to keep some of the things you said in your class “I Choose” in mind–it’s not about what I have time for, it’s about what I prioritize. Here’s to prioritizing weekends of enjoying it!

I’m impressed that you are getting a schedule back together. I have a five week old son and I can barely structure the days. Any tips? What is your schedule for the week?

Have a great weekend with your family. That pizza looks amazing. Is this a new pizza or an old one you have shared in your 40 pizzas?

Enjoy your weekend. I can’t wait to reclaim my weekends (and weekdays) after I take the GRE in a month and a half. There’s lots of good stuff on the horizon and I can’t wait to do it all.

I enjoy reading your blog. Life with a baby is basically, sleep, eat and feed for the first 3 months before you find a balance or a routine (my doctor advised me the minute I gave birth and she is SO right).
Any chance you’ll make an ‘awesome’ stamp?

love this glimpse into your world. we’re expecting a baby in the next few weeks – so it’s comforting to see some semblance of life (outside diapers/sleeping). 🙂
one question: what kind of bouncy chair are you using for ellerie?

Love your plan to reclaim the weekends! I’ve been trying to do this for awhile now, where we get housework and the likes done throughout the week so we have the weekends free, but we still spend lots of time at the computers on the weekend (my partner listening to music and using the net, me working on digital PL and watching episodes). This is definitely an awesome goal to work towards though!

How awesome is it to see you get your groove back? That’s something l learnt as a new mother….that everyone seemed to have a mark in time, where things came together, things looked clearer and life stop being SO hard with a newborn. The more l spoke to people they seemed to have experienced the same thing, although everyone’s number of weeks was different.
Me? I was a six week-er too. By this stage l had gone through a lot, tried to breastfeed, decided to stop and bottle feed, and generally stopped fighting the changes to my life, relaxed and accepted what my new days brought.
🙂 Hugs for you Mumma, it’s quite an accomplishment.

I love these posts. I’m curious about that awesome painting that looks like it’s outside of Ellerie’s room. I’m sure you’ve posted about it before but I can’t find it in your archives! I love the colors…
