She was hilariously attentive as we listened to classical music this morning trying to find a song that fit.

Oh my goodness, while watching that my urge to kiss that baby to pieces was overwhelming. I so love babies being babies in the big world. I would be that mother who tells you to enjoy this (and every) phase while it lasts, but I can clearly see how much you treasure her. Lucky mama, lucky Ellerie.

That is so cute. Have you introduced her to your iPad? I ask because around this age my little one was super colicky, but very interested in musical sounds – so we downloaded a piano program and presented her with the iPad. She lay on the bed and would swing her arms up and down the screen, tinkling digital ivories over and over. We stopped around 12 weeks and introduced other musical instruments and toys. Around 6 months, I bought her a tiny piano. She is 8 months now and she still gets super excited when she sees the iPad.

just to clarify, we introduced her to the piano program on the iPad in hopes it might distract her from crying for a few minutes. She was always happy with the iPad piano.
