It's week twenty-nine and I love this project.

Week of : July 15 – July 21.

What happened this week? Paul was home Monday – Wednesday and went back to work on Thursday. I spent my first few days at the house with Ellerie and we established our own little routine.

Plwk29detial

Anything special in the spread? Paul got VERY into coffee while on deployment and now we're on a mission to perfect our home brewed stuff. The coffee logos in the pockets on the left page are ones that we tried the first time he was home and stuff we've been drinking the past few weeks. I love including this sort of "stuff" in our album.

Techniques this week : I played with circles in this spread and they are repeated in the photos, embellishments and journaling cards. Love that every week is a chance to do something different and find something (shape, color, photos, style) to unify the pages.

Overall thoughts : I have SO MANY PHOTOS these days – between my iPhone and camera, there were probably 200 to pick from for this spread. I could always add inserts to include more, but sometimes I don't have the time or don't want to expend the effort. I am enjoying curating the photos to just my favorites each week.

Plwk29detail3

Ratio of iPhone photos to "real camera" photos : 4 to 5.

Ratio of photos taken by Elise to photos taken by Paul : All Elise.

Supplies used : Seafoam core kit, Midnight core kit, PL baby edition, Evalicious hello and happy tab, Chic Tags here and now journaling tag, Studio Calico "current" circle tag, Elle's Studio tabbed "my favorite" 3×4 card.

Tools used : Design A pocket pages, Fiskars corner rounder, Zig Millenium pen, Rotatrim paper trimmer, Office Depot date stamp, staz-on ink. All photos were printed at home on my HP Photosmart 2575 printer on Office Depot semi-gloss photo paper.

Project Life is a memory-keeping system created by Becky Higgins. I use photos, text and stuff to document our life weekly. You can see all the posts from 2012 here and 2013 here. Do you have a question about how I am tackling this project (including anything about the photos)? Check here.

I can’t wait to start my own project life once my baby comes out (oct). I have a question – and I’m sure its hard for you to give any tips, but I’ll be flying solo transatlantic in December with my baby whom will be about 4-6 weeks (depending on when he chooses to arrive ;). would you mind telling me what you found hard/easy flying with such a little one? Anything special to keep in mind? thank you for your wonderful posts.

Lovely pages! I also have the problem of way too many photos to choose between. I love the photos you chose this week, especially the one of Ellerie lying on the quilt you made her! Finding the perfect home brewed coffee sounds awesome to me!

I’m about 3 weeks behind in my PL because of kid stuff, arthritis stuff, giving a shower stuff and traveling stuff. You have inspired me to go to the office and catch up as soon as “Vacation Washoroma” is done. I love love love your pl Elise and amazed you can still do this with a little baby girl . Six weeks is great and it’s going to keep getting easier.

PS- I LOVE your dear Ellerie letters and blow off those who don’t .

Love the kraft/brown/yellow. It looks so perfectly “together”, if that makes sense.

As always, your PL is great!!! I have spent all my pregnancy in parallel with yours and it has been very funny/comforting to see other woman passing (almost) the same situations than me, finally my baby girl arrived one month before Elleire, so now, when I watch your PL or read your posts, I feel identified remembering the situations we had lived one moth ago… Thanks for sharing and good luck!!

Jeez, I don’t even have a child, and I have to select from between 100-200 photos a week. It’s hands-down the hardest part of Project Life for me, and always responsible for my behind-ness.
This spread looks amazing. I hope this doesn’t come across as condescending in any way–but I love how you aren’t afraid to create spreads with more “adult” or “bold” colors, even when they include (or focus on) your little girl. There’s something very human and authentic about how you let your weeks visually take whatever shape they need to in your album, instead of forcing your little addition into a societally-approved aesthetic (pink! fluffy! pink! fluffy!).
Soapbox off now. Seriously, well done and super inspiring as usual!

Great layout Elise – I really have to get back on track with my own PL layouts. You know l reckon this may be one of your best layouts yet…..everything just seems to go together so well – like everything was meant to be there.

I just LOVE the idea of having circles throughout the weekly spread, even in the pictures, it looks so great! You (and your blog) gave me the information and inspiration to start Project Life this year. I’m pretty behind with starting my first teaching job and moving into a house in a new town with my husband, but you keep me determined and motivated to get to work!

Ellerie is so lucky to have you and paul as parents. Really, Elise, I mean that. She will cherish your documenting forever. I’m still pretty far away from having kids but I’ll be looking back at your example when those days come.

Only 200, huh? That’s pretty good. Some weeks I have between 500 & 1000. But then again I live with a 4 year old and they are not as easy to photograph as babies. I was so glad when digital cameras came out. I miss getting the envelopes back & looking to see what you captured on film, but it is much cheaper this way.

    200ish. 🙂
There are usually not that many “good” ones to choose from but there are also usually much more than that “not good” ones. It’s too easy to take a bunch of the same exact thing!

Wow, I can’t remember what it’s like to have that many photos in a week! I usaully have around 10-30 a week to choose from, which makes it nice and easy to go through. It’s winter here in Aus, so the light isn’t overly good to photograph things, but thankfully the days are getting longer again! Love Ellerie’s cute little smile in the last pic… She’s gorgeous! 🙂

I had my 2nd little boy in March and have the same problem with having TOO many pictures! I thought I had a lot to choose from with just 1 little nugget but now it’s just ridiculous. To me, every picture deserves to be in my weekly PL spreads. It’s just so hard to choose! 🙂
