It's week twenty-five and this was the week Ellerie was born.

Week of : June 17 – June 23.

What happened this week? Paul was home. We waited for baby girl Monday and Tuesday. My labor was induced Wednesday, June 19 and Ellerie arrived 28 hours later via c-section. We spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the hospital. Saturday night, we made our escape and Sunday was spent at the house.

Anything special in the spread? I decided to just focus on photos of the baby girl and then journaling from that "I want to remember post." More happened this week but everything (obviously) pales in comparision to her arrival.

Techniques this week : I added a month divider into this spread to set it apart within the album. I lucked out that the June divider was yellow and matched the other embellishments. I stuck the "20" stickers on there to mark her birthdate.

I also added the 8.5×11 page of text about our hospital stay. On the backside I included the certificate the hospital made with her footprints. Eventually, when I write her birth story, that will get added to this week's spread as well.

Overall thoughts : I feel like the addition of the baby makes this a whole new ball game. I have loved documenting my life as a single woman, as a married woman and now I begin the documentation as a mom. It's a different task now that I actually know the little person who will someday pour through these albums. My Ellerie girl changed everything.

Ratio of iPhone photos to "real camera" photos : 3 to 6.

Ratio of photos taken by Elise to photos taken by Paul : 7 to 2.

Supplies used : Seafoam core kit, Seafoam month divider, Kelly Purkey letter stickers, Paislee Press &/E, heart and mama printable, Studio Calico "3" card.

Tools used : Design A pocket pages, 8.5×11 pocket page, Fiskars corner rounder, Zig Millenium pen, Rotatrim paper trimmer, Office Depot date stamp, staz-on ink. All photos were printed at home on my HP Photosmart 2575 printer on Office Depot semi-gloss photo paper.

Project Life is a memory-keeping system created by Becky Higgins. I use photos, text and stuff to document our life weekly. You can see all the posts from 2012 here and 2013 here. Do you have a question about how I am tackling this project (including anything about the photos)? Check here.

This is PL at its finest. I love it how you laid everything out this week!
And I am also excited to see how you integrate Miss E into your album. I just started PL this year and my biggest question mark is how many pictures (especially portrait style) to include of my girls. I don’t want to make the album all about them (though let’s be honest, they are certainly the center of my life) but for me it seems crazy to have separate albums for each of them on top of my daily life album.
Not that I over-analyze or anything. Ha. Anyway, enough rambling. Thanks for the inspiration!

I’ve been really excited to see how your scrapbooking would evolve now that you have a little one around. Love the “new look” of your Project Life!

This looks great! I love seeing how the page has changed to focus on gorgeous little Ellerie! I love all of the yellow, so cute for a baby layout! The only thing I miss is a pic of you and Paul to celebrate becoming parents, but I’m sure there will be many to come! 🙂

Every time you post your PL pages it inspires me to want to start one, but then I remember I wouldn’t have very much to put in there, no kids, no BF, and I work from home so I wouldn’t even be able to mention THAT stuff. :/

Just beautiful Elise. Love how you’ve recorded her first days here. Ellerie will love looking at this layout one day…..not too far down the track either! I found my little girl loves looking at photos from even just a few years ago (and she’s only 5).

This brought tears to my eyes. Tears of joy for all of you. You sure know how to rock PL and new motherhood! If you are this organized this early in motherhood you have GOT THIS! Ellerie is SO SO lucky and blessed. Get out and have fun with her it helps you and her heal-even if that just means going to Target and walking around (as if we could go there and not spend at least $50-HA).Love the picture of Paul in her face-so special…

I love the way your front page has been updated with that gorgeous photo. I was waiting to see when you’d update it, and the entire trioage just makes me grin. Your week 2 post about her made me cry, and realise just how much I missed writing. It takes so much skill to do what you do; use simple words and stitch together such a deep and meaningful story. I hope you’re getting enough rest! 🙂

Your story is still special. I am in a similar situation to you, but instead use the fact I want to fill up my Project Life pages as a way to motivate me to live life, and have adventures. I know that sounds backwards, but it really does work.

Elise, I just want to say “Congratulations on the safe arrival of your little girl – she is beautiful!” I love your project life pages and that’s why I first came to your blog. Now all those gorgeous little baby photos (and how you organise them too), will keep me coming back. Fiona in Australia

LOVE that style of scrapbookbook. It puts the emphasis on the importnat stuff, not too “cutsie crafty”. Congrats!

Love the spread. Love the colors. Are you going to do a separate PL for just her? I wish something like PL was available 19 years ago.
