Still very much with child. Probably for at least a few more days. But the good news is, the house has never been more clean, or more ready. I have never been more excited. And Paul is so close to walking through our front door. We are getting there. We will get there.

Thank you so much for your sweet words & well wishes these past few weeks. I so appreciate knowing folks are rooting for us. I will be sharing her name and photos on the blog as soon as it makes sense for us, but for more "real time" updates – twitter & instagram are good bets. 😉

    Oh Elise, welcome to the countdown 🙂
    My daughter ended up being 12 days overdue, l nearly drove myself MAD waiting for her to come.
    In the end l was so sick of people ringing to see if she had arrived yet, and them saying….’oh you’re still at home?, well when you are going to have her?’…l ended up pulling the phone out of the wall 🙂
    Rest and sleep as much as you can – and enjoy it.

    PS, your chevron stripy skirt is awesome! I think I have been absorbing your black/white aesthetic… weeks back I found some black/white striped cotton knit and made a maxi skirt I’ve been living in. I cut it in horizontal mode this time since it was my first go but I thought it would look so cool as a chevron… and it does! Love.

    I really am so excited and look at your instagram posts with such anticipation, that sometimes I feel weird 😉
    I mean, why being so involved with someone I have not only never met but never really exchanged “virtual” words with.
    But you have such a nice way to share things and that’s how the blog world is, I know you can understand.
    What’s letting me a bit sad, though, is that I have “real life” friends who I care about but they live a bit far and won’t share anything online (no blog, no social networks) and now that they have babies I just get a couple of photos and a few phone calls or text messages.
    So I know exactly how your nursery is, while I know so little about how some friends of mine are coping with being mums…
    Strange world 🙂

    You are right when you say “my house will never be so clean and ready” because once you have a child you will realize just how real that is. Now I’ve just read a tip from a Canadian girl living in Sydney who has had her first little bub 4 weeks ago and she has done a post on tips…plastic drinking straws – get some….she said that when you are breastfeeding or laying down nursing bub and you are trying to drink out of a cup the straws (actually, she said the “bendy” straws come in very handy) so you might get some bendy plastic drinking straws to have on hand.     The whole “due date” coming and going is such an anti-climax it’s hard to know how to feel. After all this is the day you have been working towards for 9 months and then poof….nothing….it is a very strange feeling on that day for sure however I’m glad it is looking likely that Paul will be there.
