It’s week twenty-two and I love this project.

Week of : May 28 – June 2.

What happened this week? I was home and then some girlfriends came to town for the weekend.

Plwk22right

Anything special in the spread? Nothing too exciting… I didn’t have a ton of photos this week. What you see here is pretty much what there was to work with. Some weeks are like that. Other weeks I get to pick and choose.

Plwk22detail2

Techniques this week : I created a little “embellishment” pocket with a Chic Tags tag and some
Kelly Purkey sequins. I sewed the tag into place (right through the
pocket) and sewed the pocket shut to keep the sequins in. On the
backside of the tag I stuck a sticker that will appear in next week’s
spread.

Overall thoughts : Love the color mix this week. It’s screaming summer to me. Also love when a layout comes together so easily.

Ratio of iPhone photos to “real camera” photos : 6 to 4.

Plwk22detail3

Ratio of photos taken by Elise to photos taken by Paul : All Elise. (Paul, come home!)

Supplies used : Seafoam core kit, Kelly Purkey label sticker, sequins & 3×4 cards, Chic Tags journaling tag.

Tools used : Design A pocket pages, Fiskars corner rounder, Zig Millenium pen, Rotatrim paper trimmer, Office Depot date stamp, staz-on ink. All photos were printed at home on my HP Photosmart 2575 printer on Office Depot semi-gloss photo paper.

Project Life is a memory-keeping system created by Becky Higgins. I use photos, text and stuff to document our life weekly. You can see all the posts from 2012 here and 2013 here. Do you have a question about how I am tackling this project (including anything about the photos)? Check here.

hi elise! i wanted to ask you if it was intentional that your project life albums don’t usually contain photos of your extended family or other people. i know you had an insert filled with girlfriends for your baby shower, but like on this spread, the visit is marked by the entertaining, not their faces. i wouldn’t ask if i didn’t know they were present in your life and you had good relationships with them. 🙂 you don’t need to answer, but i was wondering if there was a reason you kept it pretty focused to you and paul and baby e or if maybe you slid some other photos in after sharing here on the blog? i find it hard to include people photos when there are many in a week, like a party or holiday without it taking over the spread. thinking about how i can balance.

Excellent question!! It’s odd, I am really good about STUFF photos, but not very good about taking people photos. So usually, when I look through my camera I don’t have any! I would totally include them but it’s rare that I end up with a lot (or from this trip any!). (SAD, I know.)

not sad! that means you’re probably living/focusing in the moment – a good thing!

Elise, your blog is just so beautiful. I’m so glad I found it.
In response to Jessica’s comment and your reply, I find it easier to take pictures of things than people, too. A lot of my family and my husband’s (especially the in-laws) don’t really act like they like it when I take pictures of them. So it makes me feel awkward to do it.

Another awesome week! I love the bright filler cards, and the sequins too! Love of good photos shared as well 🙂
I’m also bad at taking people photos… I still feel awkward doing it, and I’m usually too busy with enjoying the moment to think to take them

I don’t see a new 8am post today. Hoping that means a baby might be making her way into the world! Praying for you all this morning!

Really loving the light feel of this spread. This project was really disheartening the first couple of months (for me) because I never felt that my spread felt like “me”. Over the last couple of weeks I finally feel like I’m getting the hang of it, and have been really happy with my pages. Your pages always radiate your energy and you always do a really fantastic job of creating balanced spreads that are true to you…well, as far as I can tell from not knowing you in real life 😉
Especially loving the cropped photo of the palm + the sky this week!!

You have such a beautiful way of scrapbooking and memory keeping – I’d love if I had the time patience and creativity to commit to a project like project life because I love how it looks.
    Maybe next year….

I’m the same I find I end up having far to much fun with my friends that I forget to take pictures of it – then after I’m disspointed I never captured it – I vowed to try harder but I’m not getting to much better! 🙂
