It’s week seventeen and I love this project.

Week of : April 22 – April 28.

What happened this week? My sister-in-law Kristen was in town and we made lots of progress on the house! It was Paul and my third anniversary. I helped celebrate my girlfriend Katy’s bachelorette party in LA. I ate my first red tomato.

Anything special in the spread? I used a card from the digital edition of the Midnight Project Life kit. LOVE that edition and think this card especially is fun (I recolored it from gray to yellow in PSE). Love the popular speech bubble shape – used it twice this week.

Techniques this week : Nothing special. Loving the look of the white stickers on photos. These are from Kelly Purkey.

Overall thoughts : This is the last spread of album one! I am carrying April 29th and 30th into May-August’s album. Safe to say I am still enjoying this project more in 2013 than I was in 2012.

Ratio of iPhone photos to “real camera” photos : 6 to 5.

Ratio of photos taken by Elise to photos taken by Paul : All Elise this week.

Supplies used : Seafoam core kit, Midnight filler cards, Project Life baby edition, Studio Calico Project Life kit (journaling card), Kelly Purkey letter stickers.

Tools used : Design A pocket pages, Fiskars corner rounder, Zig Millenium pen, Rotatrim paper trimmer, Office Depot date stamp, staz-on ink. All photos were printed at home on my HP Photosmart 2575 printer on Office Depot semi-gloss photo paper.

Project Life is a memory-keeping system created by Becky Higgins. I use photos, text and stuff to document our life weekly. You can see all the posts from 2012 here and 2013 here. Do you have a question about how I am tackling this project (including anything about the photos)? Check here.

Curious as to why you are enjoying the process more this year than last. Always enjoy seeing your PL spreads!

Elise, I just love reading your blog.
Last night I finished my first mini book, that I started three years ago, but I finally did it! It’s a “Home” book, like the one you did for your apartment – the one before the previous one (with a key picture towards the end). So thank you so much for it! I finally have a memory of that house I loved (that I am hoping to go back to some day.
I really wish you have a very good delivery. That Paul will be home for it, that your little baby girl will arrive safe & healthy, and will later sleep well 🙂

Such an awesome spread! I love how much journalling you’ve included… You’re spreads never seem to look too journalling heavy unlike mine. I love seeing the glimpses of how your bedroom and little one’s nursery are shaping up!

I’m curious why you’re enjoying PL more this week and also what your scrapbooking plans are for the Lil lady. Will you do her own album? A family album?
    Just curious. 🙂

Hi Elise! Quick question. I know you print all your photos at home, so I assume you also print off the digital cards, like the one you used in this spread. Do you use the same paper as your photos or do you use a different type of paper? Just wondering! Thanks. 🙂

i have the digital version of the midnight edition and i’m really curious how you recolored it from gray to yellow in photoshop. i can’t seem to figure it out. i’ve been selecting “edit” and then scrolling down to “fill layer” and then selecting a color of my choice but the whole thing fills with color when i just want the speech bubble colored. hmm?

Hope this helps you Libbi – I have CS6. I select the colour I want using the eye dropper tool and then I use the paint bucket tool to colour the area I want coloured.

Love your work more and more each week Elise. I’m a bit in love with speech bubbles at the moment! Love your combination of the kits and your recolouring – I’m a bit in love with recolouring at the moment too…
… Okay, so I’m a bit in love with everything 😉

I recently printed some of the digital project life cards and they ended up being smaller than the traditional cards. Wondering if you have had any issues with this or perhaps I just had it scaled wrong when printing? Thanks!

Tough to put my finger on it, but I think it’s because I am using the kits and journaling cards so the whole project feels easier and way more unified.

Baby girl will be part of the family album plus probably one million digital photo books.

Usually the same photo paper unless I want a colored card stock background.

I open mine in pse and print from there the ones I want and the size is perfect. Probably worth getting in touch with acdigitals if you are having size or printing issues. 🙂
