It's week fifteen and I love this project.

Week of : April 8 – April 14.

What happened this week? I was back at home. Paul was still deployed. Pretty normal week. 😉 My parents came down Friday night and stayed through Sunday. We made massive progress on the house while they were here.

Anything special in the spread? This week I used only Seafoam core kit Project Life products, no extra embellishments. This was a challenge for the PL Creative Team and I really enjoyed it. I decided to take it an extra step and just use the mustard and kraft color for the layout. Love the super simple look.

Techniques this week : I added a cut down journaling card on top of a 4×6 photo to hold a recipe for my new favorite nut granola. I also trimmed a 3×4 card to add some extra journaling on top of fabric scrap from our new headboard.

Overall thoughts : I love this project. It has gotten so much BETTER for me as time has gone on. I don't remember being quite as committed to making this rad when I was 15 weeks in last year. Part of what's helping is really working from the kit and giving myself an extra week to put the layouts together.

Ratio of iPhone photos to "real camera" photos : 3 to 7.

Ratio of photos taken by Elise to photos taken by Paul : All Elise AGAIN. Boooring. Paul, we've gotta do something about this.

Supplies used : Seafoam core kit.

Tools used : Design A pocket pages, Fiskars corner rounder, Zig Millenium pen, Rotatrim paper trimmer, Office Depot date stamp, staz-on ink. All photos were printed at home on my HP Photosmart 2575 printer on Office Depot semi-gloss photo paper.

Project Life is a memory-keeping system created by Becky Higgins. I use photos, text and stuff to document our life weekly. You can see all the posts from 2012 here and 2013 here. Do you have a question about how I am tackling this project (including anything about the photos)? Check here.

Elise… I love your style. So simple and perfect. You have given me so many ideas for my album too. Something I have really been missing, is one of your full 12×12 photo spreads. They have always been a favorite of mine. I’m guessing it’s probably because you have had so many photos to incorporate into your album. Thank you again for sharing and I can’t wait to see how you work your new addition into your album. You are amazing.

Hi Elise! I wanted to take a second to thank you for sharing your creativity & your life through this blog. I went on a trip back in 2009 – traveling and studying in Europe for 6 months. When I returned to the States I had envelopes and Ziploc bags bursting with tickets and postcards and stubs from all theses places that meant so much to me – as well as a few thousand pictures, of course! I traveled as a student, and as such had no money to spare on expensive souvenirs – these stubs and pictures mean everything to me! I spent 4 years searching for the right way to put together something that managed to get a balance of glossy pictures while still allowing me to keep my souvenirs. Blurb books weren’t going to work, and I knew I didn’t have the patience to try and ‘scrapbook’ it the only way I had seen before. It wasn’t until I found your blog, and started reading about this system that you use to celebrate your life that I finally knew I had found what I needed!!! I bought my first kit pieces about a month ago, and slammed together that 6 months of traveling in 1 week – I was amazed how quickly it came together!!! So easy!!! I quickly decided that I couldn’t stop there, and now have already started flooding Costco with photos to keep it going! I celebrated with you up here in Washington as your Seafoam Kit came out – and pulled the trigger on it today – it is winging it’s way towards me as we speak, and I can’t wait to continue getting these last few years into folders!!! Thank you again!
