I feel like I have a normal routine worked out in this new house. That is so nice.

I spent most of this week organizing and working on getting ahead of the game with little projects (like painting onesies and playing with tissue paper) and bigger projects (like printing wedding programs for a friend and recovering our headboard). My parents are coming down tonight to help out for another weekend and I don't want to waste a second of the time they are here. Some of our to-do list items include a small landscape project in the front yard, building a media cabinet, hanging curtains and putting together baby room furniture. I'm more than a little excited to make progress in so many different spaces.

It's frustrating to not really be able to do much home set up work on my own so I am very grateful when I have 48 hours of help. We'll be packing 92 hours in for sure.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Are you making flowers for the nursery with tissue paper? We are getting ready to have a party for our soon to be 13 year old and I was considering making the big ones for our patio’s ceiling. Are you using the directions from Martha Stewart? Curious how they turn out! Have fun!

Making progress always makes me feel good too. 🙂 I’ve been reading for awhile now, and your blog is such a bright spot to my day. I love how you post real content every day, and not just giveaway/filler posts. Your blog is so well rounded. I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy it. Have a great day!

Sorta off-topic, but I have a couple questions:
    1) Do you get the manufacturer brand ink refills for your printer, or do you get generic refills?
I buy the manufacturer refills, but it gets so expensive, and just wondered if you (or anyone else
here) has experience with generic refills.
    2) When you print journaling cards, what type of cardstock do you use? (again, anyone else here feel
    free to chime in.)
    Thanks! 🙂

Love the photos! You’ll get a kick out of your donkey tail plant. I love mine and have had it for 8 years. So easy to plant more of them and they flower too. 🙂

I use only brand name printer ink. I buy it with coupons at office depot. expensive, but worth it. I print journaling cards on semi-gloss photo paper OR cardstock from paper source. 🙂

Your parents sound wonderful – very supportive. Mine are the same and it was only when I had my own children that I fully realised how very awesome they are and how blessed I am.

You never cease to amaze me with everything you make happen, Elise – you constantly inspire me to start (and finish) projects. Where do you get your tissue paper? All of the craft stores around me seem to have a very limited selection, which bums me out.
    Have a fabulous weekend!

you know how they say that babies can hear sounds inside the womb so you should play your favorite music or read to your belly, etc? i wish this little girl could see some of these amazing colors inside the womb!
she’s in for such a treat when she moves out to this side of the world!
    happy weekend, elise!

That little onesie is adorable, you will love seeing her in it. I made a few for my own daughter before she was born and it was neat to see her wearing them once she was here with us.
I think those days of being dependent on others to finish projects was one of the hardest parts of my pregnancy. I love working hard and making things happen quickly, but pregnancy sure does make you slow down in so many ways in that regard. I’m glad to know you will have so much help this weekend. Your little girl is going to be surrounded with so much love.
