In December, I talked a bit about my one little word for 2013 and shared photos of the album I'll be putting together throughout this year. The album is a photo and written diary and much more personal to me than our Project Life album. I am taking Ali's One Little Word online course this year and many of the monthly projects will come out of her suggested prompts. Other items in this album will be printouts of relevant blog posts, things I find that relate to my one little word and self-portraits.

I'd love to share pieces of this album as I work on it each month.

Bravejan2

The main spread this month was part of the prompt from the workshop.

Bravejan5

I used letter stamps (I don't know the manufacturer, they are very old from Michael's) to stamp BRAVE on each of the cards and then added an additional word with a white sharpie paint pen.

The text on the 8.5×11 sheet is the writing from this post. I copy and pasted it right from the blog into PSE and then played around with it there to get something I was happy with.

Bravejan4

The backside of the page protector is a piece of 12×12 Studio Calico paper cut down to 8.5×11. I paper-clipped to the top my handwritten notes as I was brainstorming for the workshop prompt and a quote postcard I found and loved.

The photo spread for January includes 18 of my favorite self-portraits from my #dailyyoga experiment. These were all taken on my iPhone, processed with instagram and then re-cropped and printed at home as 2.75×3.75 photos so they fit in to the 9-pocket page protector. My main bold intention this month was to embrace daily yoga and I liked the idea of collecting a bunch of the photos all in one place.

Right now, I have a similar plan in mind for the photo spread in February, but we will see how things shake out. I love the idea of incorporating different page protectors and capturing things that relate to my one little word in this album throughout the year. The flexibility is the best part of this project.

Supplies used : We R Memory Keepers 8.5×11 album, We R Memory Keepers 9 pocket page, my own instagram photo printed by printsagram early in 2012, Sharpie Paint Pen, Seafoam 12×12 papers, Elise Joy "be brave" stamp, Office Depot date stamp, staz-on ink, Studio Calico patterned paper, girl badge from Ormolu.

This is lovely! I’m also doing Ali’s One Little Word course, but I hadn’t thought about creating my own prompts to add to the project. Now, I think I will. Thanks Elise.

OH!!! This is absolutely perfect. Love!!! I am not part of the OLW community, sadly, however I do have one! (Glitter Filled, for 2013 and Accomplish for January!) I need to do something like this. I really need a printer. 😉
I also hope this doesn’t sound creepy, but your Instagram inspires me! Your yoga, fruits and veggies, awesome outfits, etc. LOVE IT.

This is great, Elise. Very beautiful, very creative, very inspiring. As you transition through phases of your pregnancy and into parenthood, I can tell you: these are daily moments that you will be so very grateful that you documented. I can’t tell you how many times my kids ask me questions about the little things from when I was pregnant with them or from when they were very young and I don’t remember. Great work on this!

Elise! I am so glad to see that you are doing your One Little Word like you are! I too decided that I would make my One Little Word project so much more about my ongoing adventure with my word and my life and the “changes” throughout. That is my OLW, CHANGE! Exciting! Thanks again for sharing!

I love this. When you first showed us peeks from this album, I was hoping you’d share more. I started Project Life this year, and documenting my family’s week has made me realize that I really want to document my own personal journey through this year too. I debated doing a separate Project Life like album for myself..but in the end settled (for now) on a minibook for myself.
Looking forward to seeing more updates from this album!

Great pages so far! I’ve done a similar thing for my pages with a seperate title page and inserts with my notes and goals on there (I ended up picking the word you used last year). I love your yoga photos… They look really striking all together like that!

Love all those yoga shots! Thanks for sharing your album. I am quite inclined to join the class, even a month into the year, just to help me focus more on my word. I also like the idea of making an album about me! I love your posts on goal setting, they are so inspiring! Fiona xoxo
