Pearpizza

pizza no. 14 : pear & goat cheese.

occasion : it's Saturday afternoon.

crust : our whole wheat usual.

sauce : olive oil.

cheese :  goat cheese.

toppings : one pear – sliced super thin – and fresh ground black pepper.

thoughts : I saw a variation of this recipe years ago and we love to make it as an appetizer pizza. Last weekend, when my girlfriends were in town, I made it for them and thought for sure I had already blogged about it for 40 Pizzas. Turns out no! Seriously, this is the simplest pizza because you don't have to make any sauce. The trick is just to be sure that the fresh pear is sliced thin so it cooks well.

Dottedline

Unrelated but relevant : the new stamp designs have been added to the shop.

Yum! Love cheese and pears together – we had an amazing salad this weekend, which was full of sliced pear and parmesan.
I’ve been hoping you’d post a vegetarian pizza one of these days…I’ll be sure to try this sometime. We’re big on pizza in our place too.

New stamps totally deserve their own blog post! LOL (totally teasing) Seriously – great job w/the new additions! On a whim last night I checked and it was a treat to see them up there just waiting for me to buy! 🙂
Have you ever blogged about your stamp creation process? How do you decide what to create, how many new designs, etc? Um, I should probably try a blog search…

My all time favorite pizza: from the California Pizza Kitchen, a pear and gorgonzola pie – OMG, I can eat the whole thing! And I have!!!

My all-time favorite pizza? Pear, pesto, and goat cheese. What a little slice of heaven.
I never thought of making my own! Mmmm.

Oh, I cannot hold myself back anylonger. I assume you’re getting a million suggestions on what everyone’s favorite pizza topping that you just have to try, so I will humbly throw another suggestion out there (for anyone to consider!): beets. Sliced thin. Goat cheese is a good pairing, as is some really good olive oil. Surprisingly not odd.

This sounds really interesting! Do you have any suggestions as to other cheeses you can use on there that you think would go? I don’t eat goats cheese, but the pear part sounds awesome!

Hilarious. I made this pizza last night. Hadn’t made it in a while… originally got the idea from your blog. I’m glad you added it to the 40 pizzas. It’s terrific. Love the idea of serving it as an appetizer, too.

This sounds really good. I bet you could sub apples and brie quite nicely as well.

Hi Elise. Your 40 Pizzas inspired me… I’ve started a project for 2013, to bake 52 different things. (Excited to be using my new buttercup yellow KitchenAid stand mixer on this adventure too!) Tonight’s agenda – E & P’s whole wheat usual pizza crust (which will count as my baked item) and P’s sauce. Sooo excited!
