It felt like a quiet week around here. We're in that "prepping for Paul to leave stage" which is hard. All of our routines are about to come to a screeching halt and I'll be figuring out what the new normal looks like around here. I am working on staying in the present and thinking about what's next…next. I am also in the habit of lighting candles at my desk while I work and I'm loving it.

My Seafoam binders arrived! So excited to finally see them in person. The color is perfect and I can't wait to have three from 2013 filled and stacked on a shelf. Getting things transferred and organized felt great. You can shop them here.

Very excited for a stamp shop update next week. Inspired by Paul's upcoming deployment, I made a bunch of fun "PenPal" stamps that I think would be just as great on the back of an envelope as they'd be on a paper project. I hope to have everything listed early Monday morning. Per usual, it's hard to predict what will sell quickly and what I will have on hand. Please rest assured that while shipping may take awhile, nothing will sell out. I'll always be making more of these stamps.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I just found your blog and it’s great. I’m also a military spouse and during a move in 2012, I began to blog. I have found I love it. I see your passion and love for blogging here and it really inspires me. I have only just begun reading thru your site, but I look forward to reading further. Thanks for what you do, your positive attitude….keep up the great work!!!

LOVE! My 3 year old daughter has started telling me “just be brave” if I tell her I don’t want to do something, like watch “Peter Pan” for the 3rd time in a row. 😉 So perfect.

Oh super cool. Lovely new stamps, Elise. Love the “be brave” and “I miss your…”. My boyfriend will move to another city next month, so it’s exactly (sadly) the stamp I need. Can already see a postcard, I will send him – covered all over with these stamps. 🙂
    Wish you a wonderful weekend,

Give Paul my very heart-felt thanks. I am going to be a military mother: my son is working with the SC National Guard to enlist (partly to help pay for his college and partly because he’s always wanted to be a “shojer” (soldier) like his grandpa! (Picture a three-year-old or so marching around the house with a broom propped on his shoulder soldier-style, saying “I a shojer like Granddaddy.” (Daddy is a veteran of WWII, drafted into the army at age 18, stationed in post-war Germany.)

I admire both your and Paul’s strength as a military family. My hubby and I (before marriage) had to live on the other side of the world from one another. It was terribly hard. Love the stamps!

Love the new stamps that are to be introduced next week! I can already see myself using the PS I Love You and Be Brave stamps. Also, sending you much strength as you and Paul prep for this next deployment.

Jen and I love having lit candles around us while we’re on the computer or working on a project! Soooo relaxing. It’s a major plus if they smell yummy. 😉 Your binders are in a gorgeous color, gah, love ’em!

I’ve been lighting a candle in my craft room lately too, usually a vanilla or similar scent.
I’m SO stoked for the new stamps; planning on ordering 3, possibly 4 of them! 🙂
I’ve got the Seafoam core kit & 12×12 paper. Can’t decide if I want to use dividers yet & I think I’m going to go with a solid color binder but can’t make up my mind. LOL Mostly I want to get finished w/2012 already so I can dig into Seafoam for 2013! Seriously – you did a fanstastic job w/it!!

I just love these new stamps!! They will be perfect for my projects and love letters. My hubby is in the getting ready to deploy stage as well, hugs to you. I’ve just started my first project life album thanks to your inspiration and while it’s going to be a bumpy year I’m looking forward to documenting our ups, downs and just life in general. Thanks for all you do!

I love your new stamps, they are gorgeous! I wish you both the best for the coming months. My husband and I used to live in different cities before, because of our respective jobs. We only saw each other during week-ends and holidays, and that during 3 years and a half. It was not easy, so I imagine that seeing Paul leaving for several months must be difficult. Be brave, that’s exactly the word!
PS (!): I received my Seafoam kit today, yeah!!! It is beautiful, and I’m so so so happy! Thank you so much Elise for having made my day! 🙂

hey elise, i was just wondering – it looks like there is something written on the side of the pattern on the binder? If so, what does it say or is it just pattern? Thank-you x

I think finding the new normal was/is the most difficult thing to do; but we always manage. Knowing I’m not alone in finding that feels good. Thanks for having such an inspiring blog.

As a military spouse as well, these are just genius for deployments, I’m going to be sure to share around with all my fellow wives;) Thanks for all you do!

i love your entire kit, been using it for 2013 and it’s my first time keeping up to date with my project life. i looove the binder too, it’s so beautiful! it’s the first time i’ve bought the PL binder because its just too pretty to pass up, spoiling my plans to have all my photo albums match ali-edwards-style, oh well! loving your spine label and would love to copy it, what did you use to stamp the “001”?

Thanks! I used a number stamp from office depot (different but similar to a date stamp). It just has six rolling pieces with numbers 0-9.
