Plwk50

Week 50 and I still love this project (but I am so excited to start over).

(click photos above to enlarge for a [somewhat] clearer image.)

In case it's not obvious, I am running out of steam as 2012 wraps up. We're so close to 2013 and I suppose, I'm just tired of working on this year. (I realize that's absurd, but there is something about NEW and FRESH STARTS, you know?)

Plwk50left

Left side is pretty standard again. I am finding there is more "stuff" to include as the year wraps up – gift tags, addressed envelopes, that sort of thing. I left the pocket with our holiday card open so you could read the back on this side of the page.

Plwk50insert

I finished my "quilts by Christmas" this week so I included a  coin pocket page with scraps of all the fabric.

Plwk50insert2

Love how this little insert turned out.

Plwk50right

I was an absolute failure at taking photos the this week – so again, lots of "stuff."

Plwk50detail

I downloaded and printed this quote file from Cathy's blog and added it to the album as a small record of the Newtown events.

And that's it! Tomorrow I'll share week 51 and then we are so close to done.

supplies / Paper Source
circle labels, Office Depot date stamp, Martha Stewart &
Avery labels, Design A page protectors, coin pocket page, I use a Fiskars corner rounder (it's not amazing, but it's lasted the longest of any corner rounder I've ever had). I am using a Zig Millennium 0.1 pen and Recollections glossy marker throughout this album.

I love your fabric choices where did you get them from? Also is it possible to make a quilt without a sewing machine? I’ve always thought it’d be cool to make one but I don’t have a sewing machine. Or maybe I should just save up some money to get one…

I look forward to your P.L. posts. They are always my very favorite. I can’t wait to see how you take on 2013 and I can’t wait to get my hands on your Seafoam kit. Have a safe trip and enjoy your time spent with family.

All the fabrics are from Joanns! And yes… It is possible but would just take much much longer. 🙂

Wow, if this is ‘losing steam’ I can’t wait to see 2013!! But, I think I get what you’re saying. I thought I’d go out on a bang … but the past few days are so disconnected from “holly and jolly” … so my “DD meets PL” idea is not really working. I think it just needs to stay “PL in December” … I went to a 1st-5th grade concert this week … my heart just broke. I found myself counting the first graders, not being able to listen to all the songs, and scanning the audience and doors even though I knew there was an armed cop there … it’s just the reality of this years’ holiday season.

Hi there.. I’d love to order your Seafoam kit but can’t seem to find where. I’ve seen people mention they pre-ordered it.. but how? When I go to Becky Higgin’s product page it just says available late December 2012 and links to her initial post about it or your blog post about it. Help! I really want to do project life for 2013, you’ve inspired me 🙂

The coin pocket page of fabric scraps has got to be a favorite thing I’ve mine that you’ve done. It came together so nicely! Merry Christmas Elise and pack warmly. It’s so nippy and cold up here in Nor Cal! I’ve been up here since Monday night and it just never seems to get warm around here!

hi Jen, it is not available in the US yet. the pre-order folks are all international. you can read about that here (http://www.scrapbookersinnercircle.com/shop/#a_aid=elisejoyamp;a_bid=5ea349db) some folks have downloaded the digital version here (http://www.acdigitals.com/collections/seafoam-edition). Becky recently posted an update that set the seafoam release date on amazon back. you can read about that here (http://www.beckyhiggins.com/blog/2012/12/product-update/) up to the minute information will be announced on Beckys twitter feed. 🙂

I just finished that HP book last week and when I came across that Dumbledore quote I had to share it on facebook 🙂
Love the quilt fabric page! Definitely will have to do that when I make my sister’s next year.

The small insert with the fabric samples is beautiful! On its own, it’s a lovely piece of art, but knowing the fabrics were part of something more significant makes it even more special.
And thanks for sharing your ongoing thoughts and experiences with this year’s Project Life. I’ll be trying it for the first time in 2013, and it’s been helpful to read your (and others’) candor in what works and what’s challenging. It’s definitely helped me shape my initial idea of how I want to use Project Life in my bigger picture of memory-keeping!
    Have a merry Christmas!

Just tried them on my mac – and each photo except for the full spread which is purposely saved to get larger, stays the same size and appears in the center of a black window. I am sorry they are not doing the same for you. could be the browser.. I am on firefox. Maybe try a browswer upgrade? so sorry!!

I love your “stuff” here- especially the quilt fabrics! That’s one of the reasons I want to start PL- I’m doing a 2012 album but it’s just a regular 8.5×11 scrapbook and there’s not really room for stuff. 🙂
