This week was a bit of blur.

I worked on the holiday minibooks (that should launch at the beginning of November) and I have started thinking about holiday crafts. (Other than the quilts, that is.) I want to bring back a little bit of "handmade holiday" to the blog this season and will be making a few little holiday decor items (and crossing off many more materials!). I'm totally excited and because I subscribe to the "when inspiration strikes, strike back!" theory, I am already making lists, sketching and cutting stars out of felt. The early start means that for sure I will be totally over Christmas decorations by December 17th, but it is what it is.

This weekend : we are going to carve pumpkins. We are going to watch football. We (okay, me) will be making progress on the quilts. The last disc of season seven of How I Met Your Mother just arrived, so we'll be watching that. It's 75* outside, but we'll just pretend it's fall.

Next weekend : is the Queen Bee Market! Saturday, 10/27 from 9-3 at the Aliso Viejo Conference Center! I'll be at my booth all day (hopefully with Paul bringing me snacks) and selling stamps. Hope to see you there.

Have a good one.

Last year was the first year that I didn’t start prepping for Christmas early and I totally regretted it. I try to get all my shopping and planning done before December that way I can actually enjoy the season with family and friends. My family makes fun of me, but I can handle it over the whole “holiday-stress” scene. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Inspired by your quilts, I bought fabric to make my own quilt weeks ago but have yet to even pre-wash it! I hate cutting, so dread the start of sewing. I’ll have to adopt your motto of “striking back” and just get on with it!

haha I’m totally already in Christmas crafting mood.. I also dug out felt (in a gorgeous golden yellow) for stars, and am plotting our advent calendar.
Best of luck for the sale, and the creativity-strike 😉

I haven’t been reading your blog that long–just since the Project Life announcemnt and you really inspire me to be more crafty. I love doing that kind of stuff, but with 4 boys, sometimes it gets lost in the shuffle. Thanks for letting us take a peek into your creations!

The quilts are looking great!! Has Paul mentioned how awesome it is that you’re working on a Blue & Gold one during Big Game week? Because I find that pretty awesome 😉

I’m excited for your Christmas books! I’ve never brought on before, but I think it will make a great December Daily! Have you thought about releasing a Christmas stamp or 2 as well?? I’d be up for that! I get what you mean about planning early for Christmas though, I do the same thing, and I’m usually over it half way through December too!
