I’m so happy I read this post first thing this morning because there quite a few things I can relate to on this list [being alone – I’m 8 months pregnant and my husband won’t be back in town until I’m 9 months, drinking tea (though only doc approved kinds), getting lots of writing done etc..]. Anyway, it was nice to read today.
The tea, I’m assuming, is David’s tea? I just moved from NYC to Montreal and was so crushed by the idea that DT wouldn’t be here. I walked into the shopping district last weekend and it was the first store I saw. I immediately purchased my all time favourite “hotlips”. Have you tried it? Soooooooo good.
Thanks for the chipper post. I needed to read a happy list of things today.

Ooh, I hope you do a daily project this holiday. I know you are doing Project Life but I vote for December Daily! Ali does an amazing job with it. I just pulled out my four years worth of DD albums and looked them over and enjoyed remembering each event and day. I know that this year’s book will be even more story driven as that is what I value most as I look back!
    I get a vote, right?! 🙂

Have you thought about making fried green tomatoes? They aren’t the healthiest thing but damn they’re good. Be sure and use corn flour if you do.

The Mindy Project is – by far – the best new pilot of the season. I LOVE her – and definitely recommend her book (Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?) if you haven’t already read it. A quick, funny read.

I loved your list – – it makes me want to write my own, full of strong verbs. I also resonated with the Extended Look of Les Mis trailer and blogged about it last weekend. I am SO looking forward to sobbing through that film this Christmas.

It makes sense that you are havibg crazy dreams about the ocean and waves right now… it is so symbolic of whats happening in your creative + professional life right now! YouNEED to create a soothing nighttime ritual full of calming stimulation for your senses.. hot shower or bath with candles and scents and salt scrubs. Big fluffy warm towel. Decaf tea- still by candlelight. Or better yet, sit by thewindow abd gaze at the stars… no planning list making… just be still breathe. Feel the matrial on yoir skin… crisp cotton, soft silk…
Climb into bed… preheat your sheets with a hot water bottle or heating pad and slip in without thinkong about “going to bed” . Focus on relaxing every single muscle in your body… melting into the bed. Hopefully you will get some restful sleep.
I have noticed, especially during my most creative times, if I don’t think about bedtime or hold the expectation of going to bed and getting up in the am… i get more rest. Even if i get up at 1 am +/or get up + go back to bed… when you let go of the concept of going to bed for the nught, it lifts a LOT of the stress and anxiety that feeds insomnia and lets whatever sleepyou DO get be a more restful sleep!
