Week 36 and I still love this project.

Still playing catch-up and will be for the next little while. This week, I've got our trip to DC to share – aka, the first week of September. The wedding we attended was where we took the majority of the photos, so this week is lacking a smidge in documention. But that's okay. It's in the books so onward we head.

In retrospect, my travel photos were super random, but sometimes that works in something like this. I just printed my "favorites" slipped them in pockets and called it done.

I trimmed that large circle from Elle's Studio down to create a journaling spot that didn't take up too much space. Still LOVE journaling text hanging off the edge of a photo.

When we travel, we always, always, always do the crosswords. I think it's because we have time to kill and are often getting our coffee outside the house.

I gave a nod to that with green Amy Tangerine thickers. LOVE the color & texture on those. I also had a small handful of business cards and a movie ticket. I tucked them all together in a pocket and held them in place with a spiral clip from Office Depot.

Yep, yep, I adore this project. I feel re-inspired to finish out the year strong and already so excited to begin living and documenting 2013.

supplies / Paper Source circle label, Martha Stewart & Avery labels, Elle's Studio journaling spot, Amy Tangerine thickers, Amy Tangerine patterned paper (green), Studio Calico patterned paper (gray), Office Depot date stamp, Design A page protectors (which are available in this variety pack), Clementine core kit,, Bebas quote font. I use a Fiskars corner rounder (it's not amazing, but it's lasted the longest of any corner rounder I've ever had). I am using a Zig Millennium 0.1 pen and Recollections glossy marker throughout this album.

I love your pages, Elise!! Always so happy & full of life! I can’t wait to order some of your new stamps, too. I love how you always include a quote in your weeks. Where do you find your quotes?

The business card and movie ticket idea is a great one! It’s a good way to include a few things without necessarily having a whole space for each one, but still easy to get to! I love that you write some stuff on the photos too, like the crossword one. Great to do when you have lots of photos filling the spaces. I was wondering, is it the Zig pen or the Recollections Glossy Marker that your using to write on the photos? I’m struggling to find a decent pen for it!

thanks so much!! I use both the zig and recollections pens to write on the photos. I use semi-gloss paper, so maybe that is why they work so well. 🙂

I don’t know if you’ve answers this before as I’m new around these parts, I want to start this for 2013 but I was wondering how you print your pics the right size, do you resize them on the computer or do you just cut them afterward…I don’t have photoshop or anything so I was just wondering how I could do it to your standard because these look fantastic!! It’s going on my Christmas list this year 🙂 xx

hey Holly, I use Photoshop Elements to crop my photos and print them at home. I know there are some professional printers here in the states that will print photos for you 3×4 (or 4×6 of course!). You can read more about my printing process here : http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/golden/2012/03/thoughts-on-project-life-and-general-qa.html

I love those big alpha letters! Alpha letters are one of my guilty pleasures. I own way too many and I often hesitate to use them because they’re so pretty and I don’t want to use them up… which totally defeats the purpose, of course. I need to use them more!

Thanks! I always print photos with matte paper rather than glossy as well, so I might have to give them both a try 🙂
