Annnnnnd, we're on the home stretch.

Titlepage3

When I shared my 2nd album end page, I got a few questions about why I break up the year and how come the albums don't hold an entire 52 weeks. I can't say FOR SURE that your album wouldn't hold a full 52, but I can say it would be stuffed. Because I like to add lots of inserts and sometimes thicker embellishments, my books get thick quickly. (And I love that!)

I could probably squeak by with just two albums (each holding six months of weekly spreads) but dividing the year into thirds is working out really well for me (and the binders) and is very likely what I will continue to do next year and the years to follow.

Just like the other two little pages, I am working with a lot of neutral and metallic papers and embellishments. I cut down my big Stendig wall calendar again to recover the album divider. I used photos from vacation that first week of September of the two of us. I really hope to continue taking many photos of US (and not just STUFF) these next few months.

That Neil Armstrong quote is a SUPER win. I love it for this album. I did the same repeating stamp this time around and once again added a little "update" text card. I went to town with my ampersand stamp on some kraft cardstock for the top right pocket.

And for fun, here are the three title pages side-by-side.

Clearly, they coordinate, but I like that they are not the exact same. It will be fun to play around with the Seafoam kit next year to make three title pages that work together in a similar way.

This
project is just right up my alley. I am finding myself MORE excited to
work on it than I was at the beginning of the year. That's absolute magic for a long-term project and so different from how I usually feel.

supplies / Paper Source label, Ormolu 2012 button, Recollections gold glitter paper, Elise Joy "&" stamp, SMASH date stamp, Design A page protectors (which are available in this variety pack), Clementine core kit, Bebas quote font. I use a Fiskars corner rounder (it's not amazing, but it's lasted the longest of any corner rounder I've ever had). I am using a Zig Millennium 0.1 pen and Recollections glossy marker throughout this album.

And speaking of Project Life : starting today International customers (in some countries) can PRE-ORDER the Seafoam kit, binder, paper & monthly dividers right here.
(If you don't see the listings yet, keep an eye out, they are rolling
out sometime today!) Pre-order is not currently an option for those
inside the US but everything will be available on Amazon later this
fall. I will absolutely keep you updated as I know more. Thanks so much
for your excitement over this kit!

I want the Seafoam kit so much, but with the shipping in CAD 84.00 to Brazil, it is not going to work. Let’s think about something…
Seeing your posts of Project Life makes me want to do it, even though I am not really disciplined.

Hi Elise, I instantly fell in love with your Seafoam design during Becky’s reveal week. I ordered and paid for my Seafoam Kit a few days ago, so looking forward to using it next year. Thanks for your inspiring blog, too.

hey Elise! can’t wait to get my hands on your Seafoam kit. that kit is the single reason i’m going to do PL for another year. the mix of color/patterns is right up my alley and it’s be perfect for an “us” album, instead of a “me” album with a little bit of “him” added. thanks!

Having just recently returned from overseas, I would whole-heartedly advocate for being able to buy digi versions of the kits for printing at home especially for our non-US resident friends. The shipping fees are cost-prohibitive for scrappers, and buying scrappy sorts of things locally doesn’t help as the companies import the American products and pass their costs on…

Can’t wait for your kit to release in the US. I’m starting PL for the first time in January. Here’s hoping I can keep it going.

i am soooo far behind on my PL album, but love coming here to see your weekly posts of yours. curious…while i love the concept on a few pictures to tell a week i take LOTS of photos of every event & the not so big events and so i am curious what you do with the pictures that don’t make it into your album. are you content with only using a few and the rest stay in computer files?

I pretty much just pick my favorites. I have not yet had a photo that I wanted to add, but did not. Sometimes, if I have too many from one event I will add an insert to the normal weekly spread (you will see a sample of that this coming Sunday!) but really, all the photos I like make the book. 🙂

I love your seafoam kit, but I am planning to buy the digital version as I’m doing my PL digitally. It’s way more cost effective for me that way, being outside the US, and as a traveling family, printed books are more space effective that three large binders! I just love looking at your PL pages, and those 3 intro pages are just awesome!

Love your titles. Was it intentional to have first initials, last initial and year spread between the title pages (middle row, right card on each)? I really love that it includes them all! They all look so different yet match brilliantly!

Erica, I live in the UK and even though the price is much more reasonable, it is the wait that I hate! I use now (and intend to do for next year with seafoam) the digital kit. I just format all the little cards to 4×6 and have them printed with my photos as I need them. If you can get divided pages locally, this is still a really great option. Plus, I find that it keeps me more up to date, becuase I can’t just stick the card in and say I will come back to it later 🙂

yes, sort of intentional. there is not much to say on those first pages other than our initials and the date. 🙂 I am glad you like them!!

Wow! Seeing the cover from your first album is like a time warp! I can’t decide if it feels like a long time ago or a short time ago that it was New Year’s Eve and Paul was away. Love seeing the 3 covers together! Shows that time does pass, quickly or slowly, the way it’s supposed to and I think the Neil Armstrong quote fits that!

Wow, they look so great together! On the third title page, I especially love the repeated ampersands and your names written repeatedly. Repetition of simple elements is something I never think of, but you make it look great and it’s so easy… I need to try it!

I am thinking about getting the digital kit – I used to be a digital scrapbooker, now I am, well, I don’t know what I am now, maybe a crafter. The hard thing will be getting the page protectors, but I can do digital pages. Even though I love page protectors.
When I wrote the comment I didn’t know there would be a digital kit. Now I am beyond relieved. Thanks for replying me Elise and Meg!
