I have been in the project making zone this week and it feels so good. It's been a long time (last February, when I was wrapping up the 26 projects, maybe?) since I have felt like I had ideas coming out my ears and so I am soaking all this creative energy up for as long as it decides to stick around. I find the ebb and flow of inspiration so fantastically odd and it's nice to currently be riding the wave.

Biggest achievement this week : getting our bedroom is painted! I added a two foot stripe around the whole thing to help counter the crazy high ceilings and I think it's working. I was mighty panicked about the paint color (Valspar's beach blanket) but decided to roll with it and it's growing on me everyday. (Paul was so confused : "Babe, isn't this exactly what you picked?" "Yes but I picked wrong!!" Two days later…"OMG, I love it!!") Full room reveal coming early July, but there will be progress peeks and many projects to share in the meantime.

Taped work table is still fabulous, despite some peeling right on the edge where I sit. Not sweating it, not one bit. It's a taped table, not an expensive piece of art.

Still well on my way to becoming the craziest plant lady in all the land.

Have a wonderful, crafty weekend.

ps. these are my sheets. They are 100% amazing. Nope. I never make our bed. And yep. Our bedroom has really been a hot mess for over six months.

Our bed is never made either. Except when I change the sheets once a week or so!

Isn’t it funny how the bedroom is always the last to get worked on/decorated when you spend so much time there. Our bedroom’s a hot mess too since we moved in seven months ago and I don’t plan on working on it anytime soon – hah!

AH! I love that you never make your bed!! I don’t either and everyone always gives me such a hard time, so nice to see there’s another adult in the world that skimps on this chore too!! I am loving that tape table… if that doesn’t get you in the crafty mood I don’t know what will! I just might need to make one for myself.

I don’t make my bed either. There are way more important things in life to spend time on 🙂 I love love love the stripe- and the black and white honeymoon photo looks great with that color! Your high ceilings make the room so nice and open, too.

Hey Elise! I am loving your blog – I am really inspired by all of your projects! It’s so funny that you used the term “crazy plant lady” because I blogged about that today! I probably only have a fraction of what you have (we have hardly any good light in our house) but I am definitely working on building my collection!! 🙂

These posts are my new favorite. I love seeing “everyday” shots.
Unrelated, it would be cool to find out how you’ve grown your wardrobe. I feel like from seeing your pics, your style is both trendy AND classic. Just wondering if you have any tips for building out a wardrobe that can be used over and over, mixing and matching. This feels so strange to ask, but you have a great style but also don’t seem label obsessed like other fashion-specific bloggers.

I make my bed every day the minute I get up, complete with pillow shams and fancy, decorative pillows. I think it feels better to climb into a bed that’s all tidy, but “different strokes for different folks” as my mom used to say!
Love the green stripe and love how your headboard looks with it (based on an Instagram photo).

I actually just had the photo (yep it is a personal one) printed large on copy paper at office depot. I was going to frame it, but had a cheap canvas laying around so I wrapped the photo around it (like a present) and staple gunned it to the back. CanvasPop and Color Inc both do canvas photo wrapping though. I have used both of their services and have been very pleased. 🙂

I just love your ‘around here’ posts.
That is seriously the perfect paint colouf for your room!
But I know all about that “no, ‘ve chosen the wrong colour/item/carpet/rug/etc’ panic only to realise a few days later it was perfect after all. 🙂
    Have a great weekend, Elise!

No need to feel guilty about not making the bed, you are not supposed to do it… It should breath after the night. very practical 🙂

Men just don’t get the emotional investment we put into making a paint color selection! ; ) I painted our kitchen (while pregnant) and hated it–I cried (possible the hormones helped with this). I think I scared my husband.

LOVE that you don’t make your bed!!! I only make ours when we are having a gathering and I know people will be able to see our bedroom, as it’s right off the dining room. My kids have never made their beds either.

Glad to see the table held up pretty well. Excited for you that you’re in a creative flow – it’s been a while since I’ve been in one, I overdid it for a few months and unfortunately lost interest – I’m hoping it comes back soon. Also – I definitely know that feeling of “I picked wrong” and then it all turns out okay in the end. Great color choice, can’t wait for the room reveal.
