Week1 Detail1

I was NOT super active camera wise last week. Really only Wednesday, did I make a major effort to take a bunch of photos. But that's the beauty of my plan to only include seven photos a day. My favorites got in and I threw the pressure out the window. Below are the full pages.

I printed and saved and documented throughout the week and for that I am grateful. I loved the baseball card pocket pages. LOVED them. Perfect size for little snapshots. Will be remembering that for next year. Love all the color. Love the square corners. Love the result of each page and each spread.

Week7 Detail5

The only text other than some bits and pieces on the photos was the "day in the life" journaling I blogged last week. I printed it on a piece of 5×11 paper and trimmed an 8.5×11 page protector down to fit it. I didn't have enough text to fill both sides of the page so I slipped a piece of American Crafts paper on the back.

Week2
Week6

Instead of using photos from this week as bookends for "week in the life," I picked ones from our photoshoot in mid-April.

Week3 Week5

One was cropped up from a big photo and the other side holds just 4×6 and 3×4 snap shots. Good enough. I am planning on making some sort of full album of just those photos, but I also wanted some of my favorites in this Project Life album. I am happy with the result.

Detail2

Some of the pockets got a business card or an embellishment to talk more about the photo.

Detail4

Others days were kept pretty simple – just photos.

This week in the life section is actually THE END of volume one of my Project Life album. I decided to break the year into three albums (Jan-Apr, May-Aug & Sep-Dec). Size wise, it's going to work out just about right, I think. To make things official, I stuck an envelope page into the back of the album (into it went a few letters from P I hadn't put anywhere else and our anniversary cards).

Label

I also stamped & stickered a label for the spine.

I am still working on the end page of this first 2012 album (it's SO much harder than a title page!) but I'll share that when I'm done as well as my title page for 2012, volume II.

Embellishments used in these pages came from Elle's Studio, Banana Fish Studio & Ormolu.

What a great way to close the first book for the year, with WITL. Love your approach to it. I think this is something that I may be able to adapt and might just work for me. I am really enjoying for Project Life posts. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Looks amazing Elise. I love that you limited yourself to seven photos a day. Awesome idea. The layout is just perfect too! I still can’t thank you enough for introducing me to PL. I’ve kept on top of the last four weeks, and I seriously love doing it. And it doesn’t take all that much time either, once a workflow is established….

My albums are a mixture of classic photo-album, scrapbookalbum, journal and project life. Since here in the Netherlands 4-ring binders (and therefor 4-hole page protectors) are standard and I like to mix things up and use my (4-)holepunch to make anything flat into a page, and because of my limited budget, I don’t use project life. I do love the mixture of smaller and larger pockets in project life though, baseball card pocket pages are my favorite way of getting that feel, I use them a lot for photo’s, atc’s, little journallingcards and tidbits. Thanks for some inspiration for using them!

Love the large numbers you used for your “week in the life” pages. LOVE them. I use baseball card protector pages for my version of Project Life and LOVE it. It’s the perfect size and has worked out really well with my album.

I love that you let go of pressure to take photos all day everyday. That’s what stressed me out this time around. If I choose to do WITL again, I am going your route!

This was my first time doing Week in the Life and I did it without knowing what the end product would be like (included in PL, an album of its own, etc.) I still don’t know actually so I’m kinda counting on veterans like yourself 😉 to give me inspiration.
Anyway. It’s working. I really like how simple your WitL turned out to be. Just pictures and a long journaler. Considering my days were pretty much the same that idea could work for me as well.
    So thanks for sharing! 🙂

Thanks, Elise! This was a fabulous take on WITL. I chose not to participate this year because of PL, but I love your hybrid. So glad Ali introduced us to you a couple of weeks ago, with your everyday pics post…have subscribed to your blog and enjoyed every post since! Thanks for the inspiration.

I enjoy all of your posts, but I can’t help but drop whatever I’m doing and sit down to read your Project Life posts. Sometimes it is a bit lonely in the PL world if you don’t have children, so I’m thrilled that I can get kid-less inspiration from your project…at least for now 😉

Did you take all your photos “up & down”/”portrait layout” throughout the week or did you just crop them to size? Did you keep that in mind while shooting your photos throughout the week? I have so many landscape photos and am way to type A to have a landscape photo going up & down 🙂

I took a lot portrait style because I knew the pockets were vertical. I also cropped some. 🙂

I did the same with my project life… I usually take horizontal pics, but since I’m using vertical dividers, I decided to experiment and try some more vertical shots. I’ll crop some of the horizontal ones down though as well.

What a fantastic job! Love your PL album. I find it difficult sometimes not to do repeats but I’m working on it besides I enjoy routine.
My question is how did you crop your large photo and what type of printer do you use to print out your pictures? I’m debating as to purchase a small printer just for this project and photos.

Love, love, love the way you did the pockets, limited number of photos, and the one long piece of journaling. I’ve always been intimidated by trying to capture a detailed week in the life, and I love how you made yours simple and not daunting, but still captured the day-to-day moments of your week! It looks great in your PL album, too.
